www.rebuildchristchurch.co.nz is the website developed in September to keep the residents of Canterbury informed of what is happening with the rebuild of the region.
Up until now this website has been funded, developed and promoted by a small team of volunteers putting in their own time and money.
The website has become the Voice and Ears of Christchurch with all the authorities and residents sharing information. To keep it going and to help it grow with the demand we would love some financial support, this money will go toward keeping the site live, and setting up a community advocacy service to assist the residents with issues theya re having relating to the rebuild.
Our Story
Since Earthquake on 4th September 2011, Rebuild Christchurch has aimed to effectively, economically and at pace promote and distribute relevant information to the public in relation to Earthquake matters. Rebuild Christchurch is now viewed as an informative and factual portal for the public and businesses of Canterbury to access up to date and relevant information regardless of what sector/organisation this information may have originated.
We are continuously creating new initiatives that will better promote activities as they are organised for the people of Canterbury.
The Impact
Residents of Christchurch immediately after the September earthquake were desperately seeking information that would assist and inform. As others grabbed shovels to assist neighbours, Deon Swiggs grabbed his laptop and began collating information from a variety of sources and placing this
information in a easy to read and understand format. Rebuild Christchurch reaches thousands of people each week with relevant up to date information, taking away some of the stress and heartache and bringing back a spirit of community.
What We Need & What You Get
Since this time countless hours and expertise have gone into keeping this site up to date and relevant for the people of Christchurch. So much so that this independent web site has become the “unofficial / official”
site for information relevant to earthquake matters and updates.
Deon and his team are funding this website and all that comes with it, so we would love some funding assistance to keep the momentum. To date all the time and energy has been donated by Deon and his small team. So we would love your help
