**UPDATE 1 (December 19th): Check out this TV interview with our founder about the Redpath Social Network.**
OUR BIG HUGE MISSION
Picture this: You are struggling -- or you know someone who is. You want to get help, but there are no places to turn in your community and you don't want anyone to know you have a problem. Did you know that only 10% of addicts seek treatment? The other 90% of addicts are stuck, feeling as if there are no options.
Redpath founder Peggy Shaughnessy has been working to reach these people for ten years. Since 2004, the Redpath treatment program has been changing lives and communities in Canada by focusing on the trauma that lies at the heart of an addiction, and helping people educate themselves about the reasons they are struggling.
On the ground, the program has achieved remarkable results, and for many—especially people living in remote areas, where addiction and abuse often goes unnoticed—it became clear that that a different approach was needed. So now we want to make Redpath accessible to everyone!
That's where the Redpath Social Network comes in. Redpath is the first social network that gives you the tools to help you deal with the struggles you are facing in your life. Imagine having 24 hour access to a treatment program that adapts itself to you; that also provides the anonymity of an online forum, and the sharing power of a social network. That's what we're creating, and it's going to trigger a massive change in the way addicts and people with mental health issues are treated.
Redpath is the world's first social network for people who are struggling. By donating to our campaign, you'll be helping us change the face of mental health and addiction treatment, and bring the world to a better place, today!

THE POWER OF TECHNOLOGY TO DELIVER HELP
A whole new generation -- digital natives -- are growing up using digital devices, and digital immigrants have now adapted their lives to use these new technologies. They tap into digital and mobile devices in their everyday life, whether it's leisure, personal, work -- or self-help. That's where redpath comes in. We believe redpath has complete social currency, delivering real time aid to people in need using the power of technology.
Our goal is to not only help transform people’s lives for the better, but also change how society thinks about the treatment of mental health and addiction.
HOW REDPATH TREATMENT WORKS
Unlike other treatment approaches, redpath doesn't just give you the tools to safely revisit your traumas. Our holistic program draws your attention to the effects they are having on your life today. We understand that you are the only person who can own your trauma; it is part of your life story, and you alone carry it with you.
Through the redpath process, anyone can come to terms with their past and work towards building a brighter future. Through online peer support, self directed exercises and visual graphic aids, we give you the tools you need to help you find your own way out -- to help you build a new life free from the traumas of the past.

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP
The redpath social network will be divided into six sections -- Addiction, Mental Health, Violence, Bullying, Workplace and Self-Help, all of which have touched us all in some way. The initial cost for the development of our first section was $100,000. This cost was for the development of the website and Addiction section, which is now available in beta on the redpath network.
There are five other sections that still need to be developed in order to complete this social network and keep it free. The users themselves will determine the order that they will be built and made available; there will a section within the network where they will be able to vote on what is the most important for them. This will determine what program gets developed next.
The section areas to be voted on will be as follows:
1. Mental Health: For those having difficulties in their daily living.
2. Violence: For those who have been abused by someone or have been an abuser themselves.
3. Bullying: For those who are victims of bullying and those who have been identified as bullies.
4. Workplace: For those looking to succeed or survive in the workplace.
5. Self-Help: For those feeling inferior to others, who may have a problem with self-confidence and self-esteem, or just may feel they need something that helps them overcome an issue they cannot shake on their own.
We are seeking funding for $75,000 to help develop the next section to be added to the redpath social network. Again, the users will determine the program to be built. Be part of the campaign to help us build this and make a big difference in people's lives!

HOW TO USE REDPATH
So how does redpath work? When you first log in to redpath, you'll be given an anonymous avatar -- a way of interacting with the community as you journey on your path while protecting your privacy. Your journey begins as you complete a variety of creative assignments designed to help you safely uncover the real truth of your life story.
You'll share your progress with others on the social network, and engage with people who are at the same place along their journey. As you progress, you'll discover how you can change the way you're living to start building a life of happiness, contentment and wellness.
