Hello, my name is Rob Sacchetto and I’ve been an illustrator and freelance artist for over 25 years. You might know me from www.ZombiePortraits.com, a project that allows me to create original zombie-themed artwork on a daily basis. Or maybe you’ve seen one of my many zombie related artwork appearances in magazines, newspapers, blogs and television? That exposure has allowed me to do something I love for a living and for that I am very grateful.

But, before and throughout all my zombie adventures, I’ve always been a comic book nerd.

A million years ago I sold my first comic book collection to buy my first car. Since that regrettable day, I’ve been slowly reclaiming that collection. But I've also grown more and more obsessed with my own comic book project. 

Over 15 years ago I conceived the idea that would eventually become Cape Fear. What was initially intended as a comic book mini-series has grown into a complete 150 page graphic novel. It is a project that is on the cusp of completion. I just need a little extra support before I can unleash my creation upon the world.

Specifically, I want your support. I’ve opted to enter into the crowd-sourcing route because I want to directly engage the people who will read Cape Fear. I want you to feel like part of the process, to share in its success and I want to be able to offer you great perks and rewards in addition to what I think is a dynamite graphic novel.

THE STORY

Cape FearCape Fear is unlike anything you’ve ever read. It will definitely appeal to fans of horror and, although the characters display heroic qualities, Cape Fear is anything but a superhero comic.

After a quarter century of avid reading, I feel I am finally telling the kind of story that has all the elements I’ve always enjoyed. Beyond my fondness for monsters, sexy chicks and aliens, (which have all incorporated into Cape Fear), I have penned a tale which is both multi-layered, and complex – without being convoluted.

Cape Fear stars Fear itself, manifested as a physical ‘godlike’ creature. Fear’s physical presence on earth is necessary only in extreme circumstances. Instances in which there is such a profound imbalance in power that it threatens the continued existence of mankind.

Recently, Fear has found himself needed on earth much too often.

Without giving too much away, Fear embodies a host whose personal life becomes affected by his curse. Fear’s sister Nyxia returns from hundreds of years of exile scheming to usurp Fear and a Zombie Werewolf tears through the pages of the book.

WHAT I NEED

Actually, what I need is your support! The Cape Fear graphic novel is almost complete. It was created without outside funding or grants. It was created out of dedication to a dream and a real desire to create something new that encompasses everything I always wanted to see in a comic book without compromises. It’s taken close to 15 years, but we’ve almost there.  

This is an all or nothing campaign, together we must meet the goal.

100% of the illustrations and layout are complete and 90% of the graphic novel is lettered. We are so close!

100% of your contribution goes towards the professional printing of a 150 page black and white standard size graphic novel. I’ve come to an agreement with KaBoom Comics, an industry leader in comic book printing, that will ensure a top quality final product. Your funding dollars will also go towards the digitization of the final graphic novel.

Your interest may result in more comic books or graphic novels in this or other series. Together, we can do great things.

WHAT YOU GET!

Cape Fear is a full and complete story that was originally conceived as a four issue comic book mini-series. It has been combined into one incredible tale.

Print copies of Cape Fear will be professionally printed by industry leaders KaBoom and will feature full color cover artwork and rich black and white interiors. They will be delivered to your door.
