Hello!
Thanks for visiting the crowd funding
campaign for Rockhound Brewing Company. This campaign is our last push before
opening to help pay a few bills and make Rockhound come to life! We know you’re selective with where you spend your money, that’s why the campaign is designed to allow you to
buy in to services and merchandise early, and, in some cases, at a discount
from the regular pricing. Take a look below, learn a bit more about Rockhound
Brewing Co and check out our funding reward levels. Hopefully one is right for you.
Thanks for your help!
Nate Warnke, Owner and Brewer
The History of Nate and Rockhound
A little over two years ago, Nate Warnke,
an avid home brewer of nine years by then, was considering chasing his dream of
opening a brewpub. Working in a stable job for a fortune 500 company, it seemed
like a pipe dream and that brewing would remain a hobby. After a few kicks in
the pants from his wife and a few friends, he left his job in July of 2014 to
make it happen.
The Plan for Rockhound
Our goal is to make Rockhound a local neighborhood
brewery and pub. A place where people will want to gather for good beer, food,
and conversation. Additionally, we plan to give back to the community through a
charity brew that we plan to run once per month where a portion of the proceeds
will go directly to local charities.
Where We Are Now
A site was selected in May of 2015 where
Rockhound is under construction at 444 S. Park St. After obtaining financing, construction began in November. We’ve come a long way and are only weeks from opening.
Things are happening fast and we have a few extra expenses that we need to
account for. With your help, we know we can close that gap so we can open on
time.
The Needs and the Perks
Financing a new brewpub is tough. But we’ve
found some great partners in Summit Credit Union, Madison Development
Corporation and Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation, as well as
some private funding. These major funding sources cover a lot of the larger
expenses, like brewing and aging tanks, and most of the cost of construction.
Where your help comes in is some of the soft costs that go along with that:
Architecture Fees
Legal Fees
Accounting Fees
Design Fees
Permitting
Brewing Supplies
Food Supplies
We realize these aren’t the sexiest
things to talk about in a funding campaign, but we’re realistic and we want to
be open and honest with you. We’ve set a modest goal for this campaign, but our
need is significant. For your contribution, we are offering up vouchers for drinks,
growler fills, and swag. Additionally, we’re opening up the brewpub’s mug club
for early enrollment and at a discounted price! Please check out the funding
gallery and we hope you’ll be able to help. (Must be 21 to redeem drink vouchers and join the mug club.)
