The Food!
Have you ever been disappointed with German Cuisine? I've
always had the mindset that if "I can make it at home, why should I go
out?" My schnitzel has been a favorite at numerous private events,
and now it seems like the time is right to bring delicious Schnitzel and German food to the public for all to enjoy!
In 2014, London, Ontario will be passing a bi-law allowing mobile kitchens to serve food on public streets. This means the summer of 2014 will be the most food-centric summer ever known to London! Rotstein will be front and centre as one of the first food trucks to embark in this city, and its food will be so astronomically good that people will come all the way from Germany to try this level of delicious, German cuisine.

And, we're not talking about Schnitzel on a bun either (although that will be an option). You'll find four different types of Schnitzel, including something pleasing to the vegetarian and gluten intolerant. Other traditional classics will also be available, such as Rouladen and Sauerbraten, and it wouldn't be any type of mobile food service without homemade Bratwurst. On top of that, other dishes will be available which no other restaurant in the area offers, such as Kartoffelknoedel and Spaetzle.

With this robust menu, we'll need lots of equipment: sausage stuffer; meat grinder; slicer; shredder; vacuum sealer; warming table; pots; pans; and plenty of tools to go with it. Our level of quality is no small feat; we plan to change the face of German cuisine with Rotstein Fresswagen.
The Truck!

She's a real beauty, and the fact that we found a truck as amazing as this is really lucky. The fresswagen is currently under construction, and is being built out of a 2002 Freightliner. This truck was formally used by the City of Toronto, has a 5.9L Grumman Diesel engine, and only 47,000 kms on it.

Fabricating is currently in the process of building this truck. In fact, as of the moment of this writing they are installing the serving window. The truck is slated for completion at the end of March 2014. The truck is paid for, however only half of the retrofit is covered, and with the help of your contribution can we complete the other half of the construction.
Thank you for your help!
By contributing to this project, you'll be helping the dream of one person reach interstellar heights. This isn't a pre-established business—this is the most epic start-up of all time by a small fry hoping to get to the big time. Every person who contributes even a small portion to this project will be considered a friend of Rotstein Fresswagen for life, and have earned a personal handshake and thank you .
Risks and Challenges:
- Funding: Half of the Indiegogo will go directly to fund the retrofit of the Food Truck, and the other half will be used in purchasing the equipment critical for our startup. We're really hoping that the Indiegogo community can pull through!
- Location: We're still waiting for the City of London to pass the bi-law, which means we won't know where our truck is headed until then.
Strengths:
- Competition: Fortunately there are not many food trucks in the city yet, so we'll be an early adopter, giving us a strong advantage in the first year.
- Friends and Family: A huge network of friends and family are going the extra mile to help this truck become a reality.
- Food: Thanks to Labatt and Forked River, the city of London is very beer-centric. Fortunately for us, we conveniently serve delicious food that pairs perfectly with beer.
