I am preparing to run my very first 5K. At 44. It won't be pretty (or, let's be honest here, very dignified), but I am making every effort to do this thing successfully. While the 5K itself is a fundraiser for a local shelter, I thought to myself, "Self, why not take this a step further? Why not see if you can do a little more here?" And that's what I've set out to do. I will donate every penny raised to the shelter that brought me together with my beloved cat, Abby. 

I will gladly document my (sometimes halting) progress and will even provide photographic evidence over which you are welcome to guffaw. If you'd like me to wear cat ears or some special apparel* for my glorious run, I am willing to do so, as I have no shame. 

*Within reason, of course. I draw the line at tutus. 

If you can, please pitch in a buck or three and let's see what an slightly-out-of-shape, middle-aged lady can accomplish with your help.  I think we can impress ourselves. I thank you in advance and warn you that I am horrendously un-photogenic and often cranky beyond reason, so this should be an adventure for all involved.
