Colorado Springs is a city that invokes the imagination. With mountains that beckon exploration, weather that changes in the blink of an eye, and a community comprised of people from all over, we think this place is pretty spectacular. And Sasquatch Cookies has something special to offer.
Let’s imagine together: It’s a cold, blustery day in Colorado Springs. The majestic mountains are lightly dusted in snow and the city is quiet as people snuggle up at home, gathering around fires and each other. Suddenly, your doorbell rings. It’s here! The wait is over! You open the door and find… SASQUATCH! He’s standing there, waving and offering you a box of warm, freshly baked cookies made from wholesome, delicious ingredients. It does, indeed, seem that dreams do come true.

Cookies Delivered
Since 2017, Sasquatch Cookies has connected people through cookies. Whether you're hosting a crowd or having a late-night party for one (who doesn't need a late-night snack sometimes?), we bring cookies to your doorstep, and with them comes surprise and excitement when our big, furry buddy - Sasquatch himself - rings the doorbell.
For many, Sasquatch is just a myth, but our Colorado community knows he's real. They love him and the cookies he brings. Because of the success and support Sasquatch Cookies has tasted, we're convinced Colorado Springs wants even more of our cookies. A storefront would allow us to increase cookie availability and offer pick-up options in addition to our one-of-a-kind delivery service (which is not going away).
Sasquatch Needs a Home
We’ve consistently been asked, “Where are you located?” and sadly have had to answer that we don’t have a storefront. We rent a commercial kitchen from another bakery, and thus are only able to offer delivery on limited nights with no option for pick-up. While our roaming friend, Sasquatch, hasn’t been too discouraged with this natural fact of his life, it has constrained our hours of operation and ability to provide warm, wonderful, deliciousness outside our limited baking hours and delivery radius.

Our Storefront
Sasquatch has for some time now been thinking it’s time to settle down and get his own place. We’ve been scoping retail spaces out in the area and have a found a place to call our own! We're thrilled to announce that we are going to be located in the central part of Colorado Springs near, the Patty Jewett area. We desire to be more than just another bakery or shop, but rather, we will offer a unique atmosphere that unites family and friends around delicious cookies, gives back to the community, and brings a little humor to the world as a local, Colorado Springs treasure.
The Plans
We will need to install our own kitchen in our new commercial space. This includes a hood vent, ovens, mixers, sinks... all the bakery things. Commercial bakery equipment is very expensive, as you know or may guess, and we have a projected cost of around $73,000 to get up and running, to make the delicious, warm cookies!
Having a storefront will open many possibilities for more cookie goodness. With more hours for baking and delivering, we plan to expand our menu to include more flavors that are in high demand (can you say helloooo peanut butter??), offer deliveries during the day to businesses, schools and “sick” friends at home, or ‘just cuz you’re in the mood for cookies’ and, of course, more Sasquatch sightings.

But, why should you give?
We can’t do any of this without you! We don’t have the option to increase hours at our current kitchen, nor the space needed for expansion. We’re now in that tricky place of needing to grow, but not yet having the capital to make it happen by ourselves.
Would you consider making a gift to establish Sasquatch Cookies in a new home and give the people of Colorado Springs a new local treasure- and more amazing cookies?
In addition, when you give to Sasquatch Cookies you are not just giving to another business, but you're also giving back to the community. Since our conception in August 2017, we have partnered with local food banks and charities, giving back 10% of our profits and hosting volunteer opportunities. We currently partner with Springs Rescue Mission, a fantastic local organization that specializes in helping those trapped in homelessness to regain their sense of worth and get back on their feet. And we are open to more possibilities for giving back!

About the Owners
Brooke Orist
Brooke is a Colorado Springs native, but spent many years in Atlanta. After moving around quite a bit, and working all over the world, she came to her senses and moved back home to beautiful Colorado. She had always dreamed of owning her own bakery and felt the natural next step was to just do it! This decision was influenced by her lifelong love and obsession for cookies, and her family of entrepreneurs: Her mother owned a tea room when she was growing up, her father owns a real estate office and her sister and brother-in-law own a fundraising company.
Kate Zweber
Kate is from Minnesota originally, and has always had a passion for social justice. She earned a degree in social work and taught English in Turkey for a couple of years. Upon returning to the U.S., she started working at a non-profit as administrative HR and personnel work but felt the magnitude of need and how hard it can be to make an impact as one individual. She has always loved baking and has an obsession with cookies (both making and eating them), but as a creative it never occurred to her to open a business that could both serve delicious cookies and still make an impact in the community... until she met Brooke! Kate's friends and family were not surprised that now an even larger part of her life revolves around chocolate and sugar.
When Brooke and Kate met, Brooke asked if Kate wanted to join her in opening a cookie company. They put their heads together, and two months later launched Sasquatch Cookies!
