Originally founded as Matlock Swifts in 1868, Forest now play in the Essex Senior League, from our Wadham Lodge home in Walthamstow.
We played in front of almost 100,000 (with another 20,000 locked outside) at Wembley Stadium in the 1950s, and won the FA Amateur Cup on three occasions, finishing runners-up twice more, as well as winning the Athenian League four times, and the Essex Senior Cup nine times.
But the club has fallen on tough times, with funding needed to ensure the continuation through the 2017-18 season and beyond.
Forest now operate a first team, and Ladies team, a Veterans team and multiple youth teams, serving the borough of Waltham Forest and beyond.
We've provided the pathway for former England Amateur internationals, as well as current Football League players like Bradley Johnson, Wes Thomas, Alfie Potter and Nathan Smith.
Next season will be the club’s 150th anniversary. It would be a devastating loss to non-league football and football in London if this cannot be celebrated.
Every penny helps keep this historic club alive, so please give anything you can afford to.
The club is run by volunteers, with players paying their own expenses to get to and from games. None of the money raised will go towards paying players, or the like.
What We Need & What You Get
Break it down for folks in more detail:
- We need £10,000 to get us to the end of the 2017-18 season, and help us prepare for the 2018-19 season.
- Your donations will help pay league and pitch rental fees, for referees, for equipment, insurance and much more.
Your contribution
Your valuable contribution will ensure the continuation of Waltham Forest's only semi-professional football club.
Put simply - without you, there will be no Waltham Forest FC.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please share our story far and wide, if every football fan in the country donated as little as a pound, we'd be able to ensure the future of the borough's club.
