I know there are many problems in the world and this is very much a 'first world problem' but this effects my sons future and you will see in my story I will do anything for my son.

My husband has Klinefelters Syndrome and I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, we knew when we met, we would have a problem having children. In 2006, we started our IVF journey and nothing can prepare you for heart wrenching pain you experience when the procedure doesn't work. We went through another 3 cycles and still had no baby. My husband went through a nervous breakdown, we waited until he was better, bought a puppy for us to love and I lost weight in an attempt to increase our odds. In 2010, we found out we were pregnant and in October 2010, we had a beautiful baby boy.

In 2012, my husband injured himself at work and had to stop working. He received 6 months’ pay from Workcover after a lengthy battle. Our savings have been completely drained and we have been on a hardship plan with the bank since December, with no change in sight, this will run out in March. My husband does not receive any income of any kind and his condition is inoperable meaning he will most likely not be able to start working again. He suffers extreme back pain in the winter and the constant pressure changes of the wet season also leaves him in pain. We have systematically reduced our expenditure including abandoning our dream of expanding our family, the only expenses remaining are the all-important insurances which would still not cover the expense of the mortgage if we had to cancel the policies.

My son starts school next year and I worry about how this is effecting him and how we will buy school supplies, there is little left after essential expenses.

We've gone through a lot to get our family and although IVF cost us so much money that could have been spent on our house, I would not change a thing. My husband, son and dog mean so much to me and I am working so hard and stressing so much about how I can provide for them.

Thank you for reading my story, if you have any money you could spare to go towards our mortgage, please help us and I will be eternally grateful more than words can ever express.
