The Story
Say Grace is the story of Teresa, who, although now a nun, never got over the woman who broke her heart twelve years before, Grace. But when Grace shows up in church, Teresa has a life-changing choice to make.
As the narrative cuts back and forth between present day in the 80s and glimpses of their life together in 1968, we understand how drastically Teresa’s life has changed - from a youth full of light-heartedness, freedom and love to a more composed existence meant to serve a higher purpose.
But what is the life Teresa truly wants for herself? And will she be brave enough to commit to it? What if in the end it’s precisely her understanding of faith which leads her back to the woman she loves?
What We Need & What You Get
Every single penny from your donations will go towards covering the costs of:

-
Equipment: We want to give our team the best tools possible to get the job done. So, we plan to shoot Say Grace on Arri Alexa as we feel this will give us the best picture quality for the film. We want our production design to give the warmth and feel that the script deserves, our sound department the time and equipment they need to record the picturesque hills of Italy, and all of our post department the tool, expertise and communication that is required.
-
Location: We’re lucky to shoot in the beautiful town of Sassello and on the coast of the Mediterranean sea. Sassello is a historical town in the centre of Liguria, with long-winding country roads and buildings that have been preserved throughout centuries. It’s famous worldwide for its production of a almond-based dessert called Amaretto, from which the liquor takes its name. The region itself is only a couple hours from the South of France, so imagine many similar idyllic landscapes but a lot less touristy.
