Hello! Welcome to Wayward Vegan Cafe's crowd funding campaign! First and foremost, thank you for clicking on our link and taking the time to investigate our cause; it's a valuable first step on the way to helping us succeed. Wayward Cafe is comprised of a 100% vegan staff and ownership team, making us a unique destination in the incredible world of quality vegan fare.
Our ownership team has a successful history of vegan, small business management, and boasts an impressive combined decades-long history of restaurant experience. Colin and Tami Blanchette previously owned and operated Seattle's first 100% all vegan pizzeria, Pizza Pi, from 2007-2011. Meanwhile, Doh Driver managed Vegan Haven, Seattle's 100% vegan grocery store for more than 5 years. Together we turned the U-District into the V[egan]-District!
Since our humble beginning we have already grown enough to warrant one move, and now, five years later, we're ready (and it's necessary!) to do it again. With owners working side by side with the amazing employees, and dedicating themselves to consistently good food and service, you can be assured you're supporting not only an ethical establishment, but also hard-working families. Our food is our activism, and your support makes all the difference in the world.
We have recently signed a lease on a new location not too far from where we have been all these years. While it is bigger, brighter and seats more customers, the kitchen space leaves a little to be desired. With your generosity, we will be able to expand the kitchen in order to bring you all of the delicious comfort food Wayward is famous for. We will also be moving from counter service to a full wait staff, including someone to both greet and seat you! No matter the success of this campaign, you can rest assured that every last cent will go towards the betterment of Wayward, making your visit the best possible experience.
We have come up with some especially great rewards for all levels of donation, ranging from private catered events to heartfelt thanks to free coffee for life!
