Team 8681, A Few Loose Screws, are a 2nd year First Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team based in Ashland, MA. The team is composed of 7 students, ages 14 to 16, who are all passionate about robotics, programming, math, and science. They are lead by 2 mentors who help the team learn science, math, engineering, programming, teamwork, and presentation skills.
In our first year, we qualified for the MA State Championship and placed 8th out of 32 teams, missing the East Super Regional event by one spot.
This year, through hard work and 100's of hours of effort, we've had even more success. We again qualified for the MA State Championship and ended up ranked #1 out of 32 teams. The team qualified for the FTC East Super Regional Championship in Scranton, PA where we continued our quest for success. The top 72 teams from Maine to Virginia competed across two divisions, where we ranked 7th in our division, putting us within the top 24 overall who qualified for the FTC World Championship (April 27-30) in St. Louis, MO (we qualified 16th out of 72 teams).
Team 8681 needs funding to help pay for the event registration ($1,000), exhibit costs, and parts to fix and enhance our robot. The team is unbelievably excited about this opportunity and would be forever grateful for any contribution you could make.
With our deepest, most sincere appreciation!
