The world's greatest detective Sherlock Holmes has faced many challenges, but none has prepared him to deal with a wary shipping magnate grappling with freighters that are disappearing without a trace. When a lone survivor, clinging to a capsized lifeboat, blames the disappearing ships on an iron monster from the deep, the undersea mystery leads the world-famous investigator to the brilliant and enigmatic Captain Nemo, who has built perhaps the greatest war machine the world has ever known to embark on a quixotic quest to end global conflicts.

Holmes must rely on his deductive skills and Nemo's knowledge of the ocean depths in a thrilling, international adventure that also includes Holmes’ trusted sidekick Dr. Watson and the brilliant Irene Adler in a quest to stop a madman who plans to ignite a world war, all while encountering several memorable heroes and villains from classic literature and world history, including an unexpected encounter with a monstrous creature stitched together from human parts!

Written by Eisner-winning author Mike Baron (Punisher, Nexus, Flash), and drawn by master illustrator Richard Bonk (Superman, Teen Titans, Witchblade), “Leviathan” may be the greatest work of both of their professional careers.

This book is fully written, penciled, and inked, with a few pages already colored (as seen on this campaign page). Once we've hit our modest goal, we'll complete the coloring and have the book lettered and sent to the printer.

The Creative Team

Two time Eisner-Award and Inkpot Award winning writer Mike Baron is perhaps best known for his acclaimed 5 year run on Marvel's very first ongoing The Punisher series, along with legacy runs on DC's The Flash and Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars titles. Baron has also created many of his own celebrated comic characters such as Nexus, The Badger, Private American, and Florida Man.

Richard Bonk began his comics career at Top Cow Productions, drawing on the title Ascension along with other popular titles like The Darkness, Tales of the Witchblade and Witchblade: Destiny's Child. At DC Comics he worked on Superman:Y2K, Young Justice and Emperor Joker. Later at Image Comics, he worked on The Tenth and F-5, and co-inked several issues of Spawn: The Dark Ages. Bonk later worked at Dark Horse Comics, doing covers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Spy Boy.

They previously teamed up for Nexus: Nefarious, and together they created the vigilante adventure Private American.
