Imagine finding yourself in the middle of nowhere, unable to speak or scream; being hunted by a methodical and ruthless killer. This film is called Shhh and is about a young woman who finds herself being hunted after having been abducted. Her abductor has sewn her lips shut and as such ensured that he has the upper hand in his twisted game of cat and mouse. Will she have what it takes to survive the night in this chilling film that’s ‘The Strangers’ meets ‘Mute Witness’?
A Note from Our Writer & Director, Zerelda Nothnagel
As a female filmmaker, I am committed to exploring a story in ways that are unique, creative, and fun, and using these tactics to break down walls surrounding conventional storytelling. This film will be shot in a very immersive manner, unscripted and improvised on location. Filming knowing we have the freedom to explore the tangible emotions, fear and adrenaline of our Actors and Director of Photography in the given moment is personally a very exciting venture!
Please help us make this chilling little short film! As a creative and a storyteller, I always strive to make exceptional pieces of art that are as rewarding for the viewer as it is for every artist involved in the creation. I want to share something visceral and passionate that you won't be able to help but watch again, and again... I can’t wait to share this film with you all!

How Your Contributions Work:
If we make our goal amount, our aim is to pay every single person involved with the project. Artists, actors and crew are all highly skilled people whose time and work is valuable and we couldn’t make this film without the talented individuals who have come on board!
The following items are all factored into our budget:
Payment to Cast & Crew - With intense scenes and emotionally charged characters, our actors will bring the project to life. And as our crew is literally making the movie for us, we intend to respect their hard work and show how much we care!
Social Media & Marketing Manager - It’s true: a film takes a village. And you're hearing about it right now due to the efforts put in by our incredible team of creatives!
Equipment Rental & Props - The technical inventions in filmmaking are the reason we are able to magically capture a moment from real life and convert it to digital for your viewing. From the camera and lenses to lights and generators, we’ll be ensuring a proper production to ensure the highest quality of footage for you, the viewer!
Transportation & Accommodation - We're shooting waaaaaaaay out there in the woods. We will guarantee our cast and crew are transported safely to and from set, and have a bed to rest in from the days work.
Location Fee - How do you sell reality? Shoot it. As we mentioned, this film takes place waaaaaaaay out there in the woods, and we are very lucky to have secured a safe place to shoot that provides us with the chilling authenticity of a dangerously remote location.
Feeding Cast & Crew - If you've ever worked (ha!), you know that the best work is based on good meals. Rest assured, our cast and crew will need to properly fed to do their best work.
Post-Production - When shoot day ends, the work has just begun! Our post-production team will be enhancing the magic of shoot day with sound design, color, composing, visual effects, music licensing, and basic editing. We’ll need talented artists to help take this film to completion and inevitably get it into festivals.
Shhh may be a small film in length — but it will be big on quality.
- The budget for this 5-6 minute film is $15,000. We know that with your help, we'll be able to reach our goal and provide a high-quality experience for all of our filmmakers from start to finish.
- Your contributions get you access to some AMAZING perks, including exclusive access to the soundtrack of our film, Shhh inspired art prints by our creative team, and a whole lot more.
- Even if we DON'T reach our goal, we will not stop. Indiegogo allows us to utilize what we do raise, with a processing fee, and use that to begin production. But we will not give up on reaching our final budget goal of $15K! We expect to remount fundraising efforts if such a case arises. But let's hope it doesn't get that far!
