“Shine, Baby, Shine”

“Shine, Baby, Shine” is a short film about a gay man with trust issues who moves in with two older women and learns to reconnect.

The award-winning script was written by Sean Taylor who has been honing his craft for over 15 years.

“Shine, Baby, Shine” is his first time attempting to tell a classy gay story. Coming from a very religious background, he has always felt a need to hide that part of himself. There are many people who struggle to reconcile their sexuality with the world around them and Sean's goal with this film is to show that they are not alone...that there can be a happy ending to the story.

There is hope.

With your contribution, we will be able to allocate funds to the cast and crew including the cinematographer, sound designer, composer, digital colorist, and once the film is completed, submit it to film festivals.

$1,000 for festival submissions. “Shine, Baby, Shine” has already won awards for its screenplay and we have complete faith in the story. Entry fees for festivals range from $30-$175

The Impact

This film is a bridge. It shows one suicidal man's journey to reconnection and respectfully addresses the truth behind homosexuality’s unnecessary appearance in the Bible in 1946 (through an error in translation). Having dealt with severe depression and suicidal ideations for years, Writer/Director Sean Taylor brings a loving view to an undervalued people group.

Risks & Challenges

There are risks and challenges that come with any filmmaking venture and we have done our best to assess potential roadblocks and avoid or remove them before shooting begins. Sean Taylor is an award-winning Writer/Director with extensive experience and a personal connection to the material. He is a problem-solver and a yes-man who surrounds himself with other solution-oriented individuals. Having worked in pre-production, production, and post-production settings (including years of editing commercials), Sean understands all aspects of crafting a film from beginning to end.

Often, roadblocks can lead to alternative routes that improve the vision. If a shot isn’t working or a line sounds false, adaptability is key.
