Our Story
Like many great stories it starts with a dream, vision, and passion. Brando envisioned a place where friends could go grab a pizza, a beer, and hang out. Kris wanted a place he could call his own and showcase his cooking skills without limitations. With the help and support from their older brother and parents, the two brothers hope to bring Watsonville a pizzeria to be proud of.
Born and raised in Watsonville, means it is important for us to contribute to our community. We believe the city is bursting at the seams with culture, life, and beauty. Watsonville is a unique place and we intend to keep it that way. As natives we felt compelled to give our community a little more life and fun with a place to eat and hang out in downtown Watsonville.
Slice Project has been the result of countless conversation with family and friends. We debated and discussed the types of places we would like to have in our city and why we wanted these places. We found ourselves traveling to other nearby cities far too often to find a place to eat and enjoy ourselves. These conversations motivated us to create Slice Project. A place where you could eat, drink, and build friendships. All while keeping it local.
We are more than excited to offer the community Slice Project, a NY-style pizzeria serving craft beer, desserts, and small bites. We will be located at 300 Main Street (Fox Theater). We hope to bring back old memories and create new ones with you.
Build a New Downtown Watsonville with Us!
A whole pizza is meant to be shared and we want to share a slice of that pie with you. This campaign is to give South County the opportunity to bring back a lively downtown Watsonville. For years I’ve heard stories of a downtown Watsonville bustling with people walking up and down the street. Downtown was a place to socialize and build community. Our goal with Slice Project is to bring that history back. And it is an opportunity for us give a little something back to you, for your support.
Check out our perks! Lot of great opportunities to contribute to our campaign and get something back.
What We Need
A show of support and demand from the local community will help Slice Project transform downtown Watsonville and create a space for all to enjoy. Help us raise $25,000 to upgrade and revive our downtown pizzeria!
The funds raised will be used to:
- Hire and pay an interior design service to help us convert our vision into reality.
- Upgrade interior and give the pizzeria front of house essential improvements.
- Upgrade our beer taps, handles, lines, etc. And add a few more!
- Purchase tables, chairs, plates, glassware, and all other decor.
- Pay for equipment maintenance and upgrades (our equipment has not been used in a long time, we need to make sure it is all working great to give you the best pizza!)
If the goal is not met, we will still open Slice Project in 2019.
No Money, No Problem! Spread the Word!
We recognize that we live in one of the most expensive areas in the country and money must be spent wisely to keep food on the table. And you know what, we understand, we love you and value you. Help us by simply spreading the word around in anyway. Whether it's sharing this campaign or just telling others that Slice Project is opening up. Thank you!
