Hello, my name is Brian. Please read my story.
In August of 2006 I was found guilty of a crime I did not commit and sentenced to 28 years in prison. If anyone has ever experienced a life shattering event, they know how I felt that day. Many in our prison system are innocent and I am one of those statistics. I was framed by my ex-wife for a crime I did not commit.
Based on what I can only perceive now as a a faulty and one sided diagnosis I was convicted of inflicting Shaken Baby Syndrome upon my son, Jackson, who is alive and well today. I have and will continue to insist that I am innocent. My ex-wife failed a polygraph test yet this was not permissible in court. We were separated and I was called to come babysit our children (we have a girl, Lillian and a boy, Jackson) while she went to work. The damage was done and the plan to have me take the fall for whatever had happened to my son was in motion.
In 2010, the Arizona Justice Program got involved in my case. Medical science has increasingly been challenging the legitimacy of Shaken Baby Syndrome as a diagnosis and many people who have been accused and convicted of causing it have been vindicated thanks to the efforts of legal advocates such as the Justice Program. I am now waiting for my own vindication. After eight years of incarceration, justice is long overdue.
However, if it were that easy, I'd already be in the world where I belong. Times are tough for everyone including non-profit organizations like the Justice Program. Financial resources aren't easy to come by and legal action doesn't come cheap. Financing an independent legal campaign is hardly a reasonable expectation, but it does seem reasonable and correct to try my best to supplement the efforts being made on my behalf. The support and understanding of others is the only way I can hope to contribute to the work being done to find justice. I am asking for help in reclaiming my life. $2,300 might seem like a drop in the bucket, but it will do so much to help. Anything that can be donated will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.
**Some people can't contribute, but that doesn't mean you can't help: Spread the word of our campaign, anywhere and everywhere. Everything is welcome; funds, prayers, advice, etc. Your contribution will make a difference.
