What is Snapped?

Snapped is a neo-noir thriller which follows the story of Ethan, a talented young photographer who, after struggling to make ends meet, finds himself looking for work in the criminal underworld. His desperation and recklessness lead him into a deadly situation involving a raging district attorney and his stubborn young mistress, while trying to meet the demands of his most powerful client yet. In his attempt to get some quick cash, Ethan must now face the grim reality of the world he is now a part of.
Meet Our Director: Mason Soleski
I’m a fourth year undergrad student attending the University of Windsor in the Communications, Media, and Film program. While in school, I have spent as much time as possible focusing on film production, and until recently, cinematography specifically. I couldn’t ask for a better project then Snapped to be my directorial debut. Outside of school, I work at a production company called Aphelion Media where I’m able to practice my craft in a professional setting.

Why Do We Need Your Support?
In an ideal world, films would be able to be made for free. But in order to make our film come to life, there are a few key things we will use our funding for:

Production Design - this is one of the main elements that will help the film's atmosphere look and feel awesome. Snapped involves some realistic special effects, set decoration, and more, and each of these aspects are crucial in order to create a great-looking set.

Actors - we are super excited to introduce you to our talented cast. We are grateful that they are helping us out, and we want to be able to compensate them fairly for all of their hard work on the project.

Craft - a hardworking crew is a hungry crew, and being able to have some good food on set will help fuel us to be able to provide a better product.
The Impact
By contributing to this project, you are personally helping the artistic and ambitious ideas of our crew come to fruition. The money we raise will be put towards aspects such as actors and production design in order to bring the film to life. We are trying to make Snapped one of our first steps into the world of strong artistic cinema, but we aren’t able to accomplish this alone.
Your contributions are not only benefiting the creation of the film, but also giving film students an educational and hands-on experience. The crew will be made up entirely of university students who have had a wide range of experiences in the amateur and professional production world. Snapped will be their opportunity to flex their creative muscles before moving on and starting their professional careers. In areas such as cinematography, lighting, and sound design, our crew will be given the chance to make something they’re genuinely proud of.
We will be supporting local businesses in Windsor, Ontario, throughout the production through the acquisition of props and costumes, locations, and craft services.
