WHAT IS SONGBIRD?
Songbird is the latest film from multi-award-winning screenwriter Tommy Draper (Pro Kopf, Stop/Eject, Wasteland). It tells the story of a shy open-mic-night singer called Jennifer, who has her voice stolen by a jealous ancient creature called The Collector.
Jennifer has to embrace the world of magic, and go on a literal and figurative journey to 'find her voice', which is hidden somewhere inside the mysterious Blackmoor Woods...
Whether you're new to the fantasy genre, or whether you've loved it since the days of Legend and Willow (like we have), this film will have something for you. It will also be a film for music fans, set in the world of the underground music scene, and featuring some brand new songs by Janet Devlin.

We are a group of experienced, passionate, award-winning and slightly eccentric filmmakers based in the East Midlands. We work hard, but we take the time to enjoy ourselves on set, and to support the work of other local & independent filmmakers. Find out more about us in the campaign video above!

Songbird could be the biggest and most crowd-pleasing film we've ever done; we just need your support once again!
Our core cast, left-right: Muj Shah as Doctor Collins, Oliver Park as Joel, Janet Devlin as Jennifer, Julia Damassa as The Collector, and Michelle Darkin Price as Irene.
Did we mention that we have the best cast on board this film? And at the head of them is the incredible
Janet Devlin (who rose to fame in ITV's
The X Factor) as Jennifer. As well as lending her undiscovered acting talents to
Songbird, Janet is also going to write and sing two brand new songs for the soundtrack.
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
No fantasy film is complete without wonderful sets, even one that's set in the modern world. Luckily we have the talented production designer Charlotte Ball on hand to create the look of the film. Your money will enable her to buy all the props and set dressing items she needs to make this film look amazing.
There's also other visual elements to take into account. Your money will transform the beautiful Julia Damassa into a terrifying old witch (we promise to turn her back afterwards!) and will also enable us to develop some fantastic visual effects.

We also want to use the best locations possible, and your money can help to secure them. We're passionate about filming in the East Midlands, as it's an area of the country that's stunning but drastically under-used in film. It won't be hard to find a magical forest location round here - but it will be hard to choose just one!
There's also other important elements that you won't see on screen; your money will help to feed a hungry crew through long filming hours, and make sure they're never out of pocket. You wouldn't believe how much of a booster a bit of donated cake can be when you're in the middle of multiple takes!

WHAT WILL YOU GET IN RETURN?
Everyone who donates will be a crucial part of Songbird. You get to watch the film get created every step of the way, and your name will appear in the credits at the end of the film. You'll also receive our eternal gratitude.
