Support women suffering from domestic violence in Sri Lanka..

In Kandy, Sri Lanka there is a woman’s shelter that is dedicated to providing a safe environment for young women who have been caste out of their villages due to violence suffered at the hands of men. These young women and children come shamed by their culture, often pregnant with nowhere to go and no skills to support themselves. Now, with the catastrophic flooding to the area, even more women and children are showing up at the shelter needing assistance.
This is where you can help. The intention of this project is to raise funds for an already established local woman's shelter in Kandy,  Sri Lanka which I’ve teamed up with through my non-profit organization: Sri Lanka Woman’s Project. Through my time living in Sri Lanka and as a volunteer at this shelter, I was so moved by these women and their power to persevere, I created this project.

By helping through donation your funds will support:
1) Woman and children who do not have a safe place to live.
2) Victims of rape that are exiled from their community.
3) Girls who are pregnant as a result of sexual abuse.
4)  Girls who have been living in violent households and are transported to a shelter by the police.

What are we providing?
1) Comfortable and safe living quarters
2) Food and nutritional supplements
3) Education for vocational skills

If you have been looking for a way to support women and children, please donate to the Sri Lanka Womans Project.
