STOPPING TRAFFIC - Help End Trafficking
The STOPPING TRAFFIC film is complete. With your help, today, we can get this important documentary to a theater near you...which means more people can learn about sex trafficking, learn how to help end it and be a part of the anti-trafficking movement!
STOPPING TRAFFIC is a truly independent endeavor produced by the monks of Siddhayatan Tirth in association with the International Society of Human Unity. This film is not for profit and proceeds from the film will go back towards awareness raising campaigns, supporting 3 sex-trafficking shelters and 1 private rescue team.
Please take a look at our rewards and donate to this project with whatever you can, so we may reach that audience - in movie theaters - where films like STOPPING TRAFFIC should be experienced for the first time.
Human trafficking is the illegal trading of human beings for the purpose of exploiting them. Children and adults, both male and female, are coerced by sex traffickers to engage in commercial sex acts against their will by means of violence, threats, lies, debt bondage, and other forms of manipulation.
Globally, the average age of forced entry into the sex trade is between 11 and 14 years of age. Children are trafficked at such a young age because they are easily manipulated, physically weak, and can be taught to believe what they are doing is normal and acceptable. Child pornography is commonly a gateway into prostitution.
STOPPING TRAFFIC is multiple award-winning documentary which explores the pervasive reach of sex trafficking, especially of children in the U.S. and worldwide. Through commentary by victims and activists and investigations into practices in the U.S. and abroad, the film traces insidious links among child sexual exploitation, pornography, social media, and sex trafficking. It calls on the viewer to join the movement to end sex trafficking.
Jeannie Mai, Co-Host of Emmy-Nominated "The Real", is one of STOPPING TRAFFIC's Executive Producers and is featured in the film.
An estimated 27 million people are trafficked worldwide each year, earning $150 billion annually for their captors. Working with organizations such as UNICEF, and featuring talking points by celebrities such as Dolph Lundgren, Jeannie Mai, the Governor of the State of Mexico, doctors, activists, specialists, victims, and even a reformed trafficker, STOPPING TRAFFIC seeks to engage its viewers.
STOPPING TRAFFIC has partnered and/or has featured the following non-profit organizations and leaders who are actively involved in raising awareness about human trafficking, providing healing, shelter, and rescues.
The film's greatest aspiration is to deter young people from engaging in the sex trade while enlisting an entirely new generation of activists. STOPPING TRAFFIC inspires with personal stories while offering solutions to end this modern day slave trade.
STOPPING TRAFFIC explores sex trafficking cases in the United States, Mexico and Asia. With raw imagery and firsthand documentation, the film explores sex crimes among families, in the streets, and behind closed doors, and most importantly, explains what viewers can do to stop it.
In such a short period of time, STOPPING TRAFFIC has garnered international attentio n and recognition. This clearly shows its potential to make a strong and lasting impact, however, this is limited and not enough to reach the broad audience needed to help change the world of sex-trafficking so WE NEED YOUR HELP.
With a theatrical release, STOPPING TRAFFIC can receive maximum exposure, which translates to maximum impact. A strategic theatrical launch is critical in order to receive critical reviews and press to draw attention to the anti-trafficking cause and prevalent issue. California, Texas, and Florida are among the top states in our country that have the highest amount of human trafficking cases. Our goal with this crowdfunding campaign is to get help to debut in important cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Miami to educate and raise awareness to end this horrific crime.
With your help STOPPING TRAFFIC will premiere in Los Angeles on September 26th hosted by Jeannie Mai followed by a 7-day theatrical run in select cities September 29th - October 5th, 2017.
Every time we present the film we have the opportunity to educate, prevent and raise awareness about sex trafficking in each city we screen at. Fortunately, AMC Independent (AMC THEATERS) believes in our film too and has given us an amazing platform to show the film.
