Our passion for baking... 

As Sweet Temptations Cupcakery founder, Jakki Prince, I started baking as a little girl in the kitchen with my Nana. Growing up in my grandparents home influenced my entire life. Some of my fondest memories of my grandmother were spent baking together - me licking spoons and putting sprinkles on sugar cookies on chilly winter afternoons. 

Since founding my business in October 2010, and first retailing cupcakes in May 2011 - my goal has been to open a storefront location for Sweet Temptations Cupcakery. Throughout the past three busy years my motivation has been sustained by the many celebrations I have been invited to bake for and by the smiling faces of families at the weekly local farmers' markets. I know residents of Guelph and area love our cupcakes because you voted! As Guelph Tribune Readers Choice Award Winners as Best Dessert and 2nd place Best Bakery, our storefront would be a welcome shop in the city.

A storefront location for Sweet Temptations Cupcakery would help me bring community and culture through small business to the growing south end of Guelph. The foundation of my business is unique and innovative ideas. My business has outgrown the current physical space in Aberfoyle. By supporting the campaign you will help me realize my dream of opening a storefront for our small cupcakery - so we can continue to support your families with our baking, and our local economy. 

Our campaign overview...  

Reaching our campaign goal of $16,000 will help complete the final piece of the puzzle necessary to opening our storefront doors this year. Your generous contributions will help us to: 

• Upgrade and purchase a commercial, natural gas convection oven we need to scale our cupcake output to meet the demand of a storefront, 
• Complete necessary renovations in our unit to construct an accessible bathroom,
• Create a designated cupcake decorating party and lesson space,
• Install a custom, low humidity walk-in cooler for storing ingredients and finished products.

Our campaign relies on your IMPACT-ful contributions. With practical purchases and necessary renovations made possible by your contributions you will enable me to open our storefront in Guelph. We will work to demonstrate your real IMPACT:

• I - Investing in our small business will enhance our city's south end by improving the diversity of locally owned business, 
• M - Mean the world of difference to me - a young female self trained baker and entrepreneur - I appreciate any contribution to the campaign you can make, 
• P - Purchasing large scale, commercial equipment is necessary for our growing operation - with this new equipment we can designate a separate space to prepare our products made without wheat flour - safer food for those with dietary needs and sensitivities,
• A - Affordability - while I have been saving aggressively in order to open our storefront, and have made an application to the Canadian Youth Business Foundation for a loan, your contribution will enable me to have purchasing power to reach our goal,
