WHY WE DO THE THINGS WE DO
Our mission is to provide super easy access to affordable organic tampons and pads to all women. Everything about our product is focused on sustainability. Even our applicators are compostable and our packaging is made from recycled materials – no plastic. Period.

THE SKINNY
What's in your tampons and pads? Here's what's in ours..
1. Certified Organic, GOTS, ICEA. Our cotton is grown with extreme care and to international certified organic standards, which means everything from the soil, to water use, and of course chemicals, is strictly monitored and regulated. It also means that all stages of production are carefully monitored as well. (GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard, ICEA: European Eco/Bio Standard)
2. Toxin Free. Hypoallergenic, chemical free, and 100% organic cotton. Our tampons are encased in fine a 100% organic veil to avoid fibres staying in our bodies. We are chlorine bleach and dioxin free. With a woven cord, there are no glues, synthetics, perfumes, bleaches or dyes used in our products.

3. Plastic Free. We don't use plastic. Our applicators are a smooth biodegradable, comfortable, and compostable cardboard, our wrappers are paper, and our packaging is burlap and recycled paper. Did you know that the average plastic-applicator tampon user goes through 7,300 plastic applicators in their lifetime? That’s a lot of plastic trash! And it ends up in our landfills and waterways – this is not okay with us.
4. Completely Compostable ♥. Everything we use is compostable so we can limit the effect we have on our environment and the Earth.

5. Customized Selection to Match Your Flow. Before each month's delivery, you will be prompted to select your tampon sizes online. If you can’t decide, or don’t have time, we’ll mix it up for you! Each monthly delivery is 16 tampons or 10 pads.
6. Accessible to All Women. Our mission is to make organic tampons and pads affordable and accessible for everyone. No woman should be forced into using toxic products because she can’t afford or doesn’t have access to an organic option.

7. Socially Responsible. As well as donating a healthy percentage of revenue to charities chosen by the tribe, focusing on those that make a significant impact on young girls’ (and boys’) confidence, pride and inner-strength, we will create an awesome team by employing people who perhaps haven’t had the same access to education or opportunity in our community. We’ll be working with retraining centers such as Chrysalis in Los Angeles, and seeking out skilled veterans, and special-needs adults to make Tampon Tribe the absolute best we can be.

WHAT'S IN YOUR TAMPON?
Today's tampons and pads are not what you think - they are made from a mix of cotton, rayon, and synthetic fibres. These materials carry toxins from wherever they have been grown/produced. They have been whitened with chlorine bleach that leaves dioxin - a cause of cervical cancer. They contain perfume, dyes, glues, and chemicals called "super-absorbents." And you're putting all of this inside or on one of the most sensitive parts of your bodies? It's time to make a change. Take back control.
WHAT YOU GET WITH TAMPON TRIBE
Your first month’s Tampon Tribe selection of certified organic cotton tampons or pads, that are pure, simple and toxin-free, comes in a reusable burlap drawstring bag, which you can place in your bathroom cabinet, on the sink, or set centre stage as a conversation piece. Our tampons aren’t meant to be kept a secret!
Your subsequent refill months will be delivered in a recycled paper bag to lessen our impact on the Earth. You customize your selection online prior to delivery if you need, chose a mix of 16 regular, super, or super-plus. As we grow, we’ll have little purse and travel packs available too.

HELPING HOMELESS WOMEN
We've just added some perks that directly give back to homeless women in our community who need our help, especially with access to essential feminine hygiene. We will match purchases and deliver feminine hygiene pads to women on our streets. We are partnered with Venice, CA-based Purse Purge, where we fill purses and bags with essential items and either hand-deliver, or make available to, homeless women in the area. A LITTE MORE ABOUT US AND WHY WE STARTED TAMPON TRIBE
Tampon Tribe was started when Australian and Brazilian entrepreneurs from Beijing, Jennifer and Gaby, traveled to Los Angeles. Searching for healthy, organic products, it became clear that in the feminine hygiene arena, scarcity was king. Always running out of tampons, despite the event being a somewhat regular one, the duo paired their need for convenient and affordable tampons with sustainable, organic, and toxic free products. They are now poised to take Tampon Tribe to the world backed up by a growing enthusiastic team who inspire their passion and drive to create impact and change, and to ensure that no woman is forced into using toxic tampons due to availability or price.
