What is Tappers Arcade Bar?

Tappers Arcade Bar will be Indianapolis' first Retro Arcade Bar. We plan to feature local craft brews on tap and classic arcade games set to freeplay!

We started working on this idea a little over a year ago, and now feel we are ready to make this happen. We have a really great team of talented people helping, but to get us over the hump we need the help of Indianapolis!

Many of us have been gaming enthusiasts since before we can remember. For us, this is will be a dream come true and the best job we could possibly hope to have. For Indianapolis, this will be a fun and entertaining bar where you can try the latest in local craft beers and play classic arcade games... FOR FREE!

We think Indianapolis needs more locally owned and unique places. With your donations, we can make this a reality! We really like the idea of doing this grassroots style because we want the bar to be a part of the community. We want to work with as many local businesses, friends, artists and groups as we can to really make Tappers a place that feels like home to Hoosiers.

We have all been born and raised here and we love this city. Tappers Arcade Bar will be our contribution to the city that we love.

Where Is Your Money Going?

We've got a lot of games and we're continuing to hunt down more. What we need from you is some extra funding so that we can pay for the other necessities of opening a bar. We need a space, a bar, tables, chairs, bathrooms, coolers, and initial inventory (you know, the beer!)

With your help, Indianapolis can have a unique place to go that is different from any other night club or bar than what we currently have. Let's get these games into a place where everyone (over 21 obviously) can come and play them! For Free!

Why Does This Matter?

Indianapolis is growing and developing into a better city everyday. We want to be a part of this growth. We also want to help develop a market we feel needs improving. The Arcade. 

Arcades are getting harder and harder to find. The classics have basically disappeared from the public eye. Today, most of them are either collecting dust in warehouses or in the basements of collectors' homes. Let's change that!

Putting them in a bar is really a no-brainer. After all, arcade games have been found in bars since their conception. We want to provide that experience for people again.

What Are Our Challenges?

Obviously, owning and operating a bar is a risky business venture. We have been around the city and in other cities talking with bar owners, arcade bar owners, small business owners and anyone else who we thought could give us some insight. We've read a few books and poured a few beers as well. We're confident that we have what it takes to run a successful bar.

We think our number one challenge will be keeping these classic machines in working order. For this reason, a big part of our time this last year has been spent working on games. We've completely redone some of the machines we have and we are learning more every day. We actually have more machines than we thought we'd need to open, so if a game stops working, we can have a working game in its place to keep you playing!

I Don't Have Much Money, How Can I Help?

That's okay! Any contribution will do. Also, helping spread the word helps us in a major way. The more people that know about this project, the better. Just telling your friends helps us get closer to achieving our goals. Every dollar counts, every contribution helps, and we truly appreciate any help you can throw our way! We will be stretching our dollars as far as we can to make this a reality. With your help, we can do this!
