John received a life giving kidney transplant from his daughter Leah on December 4, 2014.

His life consisted of 3 years of home dialysis prior to the transplant. In the span of the struggle with the daily dialysis, John also was admitted for many hospitalizations during that time totaling 70 + days. John and Justine, Johns supportive fiance,  moved forward with confidence of his new beginning and a renewed chance at a fulfilling life.

Recently he was hospitalized, yet again.  First in Woodstock, IL and then transferred to the transplant center at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. Due to being on immunosuppressive drugs,  infections are serious, complicated and very dangerous.  He is under high level medical care, and has recently stabilized.

This has been a challenging several years for John and Justine.  They have made several life changing steps to ensure John has every opportunity to move forward and return to a sense of normalcy.

Words from Justine, "We remain grateful and hopeful for a better future!".
