That Old Farm
I'm currently property caretaking an old farm and looking to breath some life back into it so that I can primarily grow Black Locust (Robinia Pseudoacacia) at it. I am not going to extol the many uses of this type of tree here but in my opinion it is one of the most useful trees that I have ever heard of and worked with. I also want to help people learn the value of having Black Locust on a property, it's many uses and primarily how to do natural building and erosion control with it.
Aside from the Black Locust projects I also want to share property caretaking and land management knowledge that I have gained over the last few decades (and am still gaining day by day). I'm also hoping to share my insights and perspectives on homestead building, tiny homes and low impact site development.
Also I am currently working on a video series documenting what all I have done each day since my arrival here. Which has been quite the journey thus far because the place is both remote and fully off-grid. In the videos I try to show the various ways that I cope with being grid-less and how I make do with (primarily) the gear I brought with me and the things I find around me.
I have other goals for the place such as mushroom cultivation, spring water harvesting, making bio char, large scale composting for fertilizer, water heating and methane production, a small vineyard, and small scale tilapia farming to name a few things that I have in mind.
