As our
campaign greatly exceeded its goal due to your generosity, we want to ‘spread
the love’ to other animals in need.
Below you
will find a break-down of how the funds will be distributed when they arrive.
The Toronto Humane Society has
received $1000 for medical expenses and will receive another $1000 ---- the
total original goal for the campaign.
The extra
funds will be divided between a grass-roots campaign, a smaller grass-roots
organization and two Humane Societies:
1) The “Please help with Lolo’s life-saving surgery” Indiegogo campaign.
Lola is an 8 year-old cat who needs urgent spinal cord surgery in order
to have a chance to live out her life.
Without this surgery, Lola will have to be euthanized. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/please-help-with-lola-s-life-saving-surgery
2) Peoples Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is a registered local charity with a no-kill policy
dedicated to helping homeless, abused and abandoned animals. http://www.pawscanada.org/about.html
3) Mississauga Humane Society is a registered charity dedicated to the rescue of homeless
companion animals. They are 100% volunteer-run and receive no support from the
SPCA/City/Government. They do not have a facility or a shelter and operate
through a network of foster homes and volunteers. http://mississaugahumanesociety.com/about/
4) Etobicoke Humane Society is an independent, all-volunteer, federally registered
charity serving the Greater Toronto Area since 1987. They have recently been in
the media (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/etobicoke-humane-society-fights-possible-shelter-closure-1.2824387)
regarding the possibility that they may have to close down due to lack of funds.
