Why Are We Making This?

Hi! My name is Sally LoMonaco and I'm an actress, writer, and filmmaker. I've also been a longtime Spider-Man fan since I was a little kid. This project all started because fans of a YouTube channel that I was a part of for many years, The Reel Rejects, said I would make the perfect MJ, knowing my love for Spider-Man. And to have the support of Greg and John from The Reel Rejects channel and all of their fans that created a petition for me to play her, years ago, has meant the world to me! In reading some of the comics, I quickly fell in love with Peter Parker and MJ's relationship. I found a lot of myself in Mary Jane Watson as an actress and even related to her personal life storyline in ways that just called me to write this story and want to play this character.

I worked for 6 months on a Spider-Man fan film script from her perspective. I'm basing part of this story on an existing comic (I can't tell you which one or it'll spoil the ending!) My incredible team and I have shot 4 scenes from the script but quickly realized this film was going to cost a lot more than what we could afford out of pocket. We would love to shoot the rest of the script...This story has action, romance, comedy, and it shows a whole other side of MJ that every Spider-Man fan I believe will enjoy seeing. Not to mention a villain that has never been in a live action Spider-Man film to date. The Cast So Far...

Budget

Each day of shooting for those 4 scenes was roughly about a grand a day. We are basing our budget on how much it cost to pay our crew and talent (excluding Sally) for each of those shoot days. We are also taking into consideration that our post-production costs will be high given the level of camera quality we are shooting on and the run-time for shooting the full script. 

The Production Team

Milestone Goals:

• $1,000-$5,000: We will release the 4 scenes that we've already shot as separate vignettes and then shoot a finale video scene to hopefully tie the scenes together. A lot of Mary Jane's backstory and solo journey will be missing.
• $5,000-$10,000: We will shoot a shorter version of the script, excluding a lot of Mary Jane's solo scenes. We hope we can shoot as much as we can to showcase her full character arch.
• $10,000-$25,000: This will be enough to shoot a shorter version of the film but won't guarantee that we will be able to film the full story and edit the film in time to submit for the film festival.
• $25,000+: We will be able to shoot the full script! The release date will be quicker the more money that is donated. And we will be able to reach the deadline for the film festival! :)
