Some Background

My name is Lane Mcfaddin. I'm film student at the School of Film and Animation at Rochester Institute of Technology. Whether I'm in the director's chair or a computer chair fine-tuning an edit, telling powerful and impactful stories through film is my passion. I have had the great opportunity to direct and edit all sorts of films at RIT, spanning narrative, documentary, and experimental genres. I can't wait to take all the skills I've learned on those films and make this, my cumulative film, the best it can be. 

Equal parts fantastical and auto-biographical, "The Duel" is a very important film to me. Elliott's story is one I've wanted to tell for awhile. I am more than excited to bring the dreamy, pastel-filled world in my head onto the screen. With your help, I really believe this film can be something very, very special.

What We Need & What You Get

So, what exactly will we use your donation for?

• Actors: A film is only as good as who is on-screen. Having the funds to pay our talent will ensure that we find the perfect people to fill the roles.
   
• Production Design: "The Duel" is a very stylized film. We need the funds for props, set pieces, and wardrobes in order to fully realize Elliott's world. 
   
• Food!: A film takes a lot of people to make. I've got an awesome crew by my side, and I want to make sure they stay well-fed, hydrated, energized, and happy!
   

• Etc: A lot goes into making a film, and that means a lot of odds and ends that add up. From gas to get to location all the way down to paper and staples, we are going need funds to keep the production on-track and running.
