This is a story about humanity and the earth, about creation and gratitude, and about expanding consciousness through art.
My name is Orly Faya and I paint people into the world. I have been a travelling artist for 12 years, have a background in anthropology and a passion for creation and collaboration. This campaign is to support me launch The Gaia Project through my debut art exhibition on May 9th at Burrinja Cultural Centre Upwey Victoria. The exhibtion will be open to the public from May 8 - June 7 and will include a collaborative event called "Creation's Calling" that will be held on May 22nd, a night to celebrate our relationship with the earth through the creative expressions of music, poetry, story telling and of course, my favourite combination of paint, nature, human form, realtime, and photography.
My intention is to help humanity re-member ourselves as the children of the earth, to reestablish balance, harmony and gratitude so that we may elevate consciousness and live sustainable lives with the resources of our planet. In addition, I intend that the sales of my artwork will not only elevate consciousness but will also enable me to expand my projects to supporting community initiatives that aid sustainable environmental projects around the world.
These artworks also form part of a bigger initiative called The Gaia Project , a co_op for establishing creative collaborations that aim to impact social and environmental changes, and ultimately create a more sustainable way of living in the world.
Support and Exchange
Your support helps me launch The Gaia Project via two events that span over my four week debut exhibition in Burrinja Cultural Centre, in Upwey Victoria. These events are:
1) May 9th - The opening of the Exhibition which will include a live painting installation and a talk about my journey painting people into the world, canapés and wine.
2) "Creation's Calling - Collaborating for sustainability" - A collaborative creative event with music, poetry, food and drinks to support the work of uniting humanity with the earth.
So where is the money going?
Printing and framing artworks!
Transporting artworks between Sydney and Melbourne
Food and drinks at both events
Invitations, marketing, written articles for papers and magazines about The Gaia Project, what why and how we are creating movement
Equipment: digital camera, SLR lens, tripod, computer
All donations are welcome and all will be rewarded with gifts. The amounts are allocated with particular rewards, artworks in all forms. Everything is appreciated and everything makes a difference!
The Impact
Although I am the vessel for these creations, the intention is vast and extends to the whole world. Our children and our children's children may grow up in a world that has forgotten where we came from, riddled with trash, pollution and disrespect.. or we can work towards reuniting humanity with the earth, honouring the sacred feminine and caring for our mother planet so that we may drink clean water and live sustainably, and enjoy the fruits of the garden of eden that we have been blessed to be born into.
This is my calling in life: to create projects that inspire and make a difference in the world. For me, there is no bigger reason to be alive other than to work towards a conscious existence, create awareness through art and inspire my fellow humans to imbue their lives with joy, creativity and service.
Risks & Challenges
Despite the fact that each piece of art is an expedition in of itself, full of challenges, difficulties, intensity and pain, the truth is that there is nothing other than funds that can get in the way of these goals. I am committed and compelled to continue making art that inspires the people of the world. I am completely driven to be involved in collaborative creative projects that elevate consciousness.
Through my work of blending people into the landscapes of the world, I hone my personal relations, further my sense of compassion, become more patient, and realise the importance of respect in order to be harmonious with the energies in the world.
Knowing that I have support from the people who are watching these creations emerge gives me the sustenance to continue and become stronger in my visions.
