Our Campaign is now "In Demand" on Indiegogo.
We successfully reached our initial required funds in order to cover the logistical costs of the production.
Many of our Perks are still on offer. We are now working on the schedule of filming and will update you as we go along.
Hello!
I'm Nik and, back in 2011, I started www.inflightfeed.com as an online guide for passengers looking for more information on what food is served on flights. The site includes menu information, special meals details, as well as blog posts from my travels around the globe as an airline food taste-tester and trainer. For several years now I've wanted to put my explorations and experiences in airline cuisine in motion by creating a documentary that goes behind the scenes to reveal the extraordinary work behind delivering a meal to your seat, in flight.
I've traveled on over 400 flights since starting the site and been quoted as an airline food expert in CNN, Vogue, The New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, ABC News, and USA Today.

Last summer (2015) I decided it was time to make to make this dream project of mine come alive, and I selected James Mellor from Rainbow Trout Films. Mellor is from the UK and has spent the last 15 years in the Film & TV industry, he has worked on a slew of productions, including: Harry Potter, Last of the Summer Wine, London’s Burning, Wheeler Dealers, Car of the Year, and The Real Holiday Show. He started Rainbow Trout Films www.rainbowtroutfilms.com back in 2010 and now creates award-winning projects for clients including Sky, Yahoo!, Primark, and many more.

THE DOCUMENTARY
James and I have already filmed in Riga with Air Baltic, and in Tokyo with Scandinavian airline SAS. These trips were funded by us but it's starting to get a little expensive! We would like to continue filming to create a feature-length documentary highlighting airlines in Europe. The stars will be Air France, SAS, Air Baltic, Turkish Airlines, OnAir Dining, DO & CO plus a few others!

WHAT DO WE PLAN TO DO WITH EACH AIRLINE?
Having shared my idea within the industry, I've received nothing but positive feedback each airline or company has their own unique story to tell and has been chosen for that reason.
Air France - An economy class tasting session at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport will delve into the little-known practice of meal upgrades in economy class.
SAS - Follow up interviews with staff in Scandinavia.
Air Baltic - We will set up a food truck (or tent) in central Riga and surprise people on the street with the airline’s pre-order meals.
Turkish Airlines - Filming will be in an Airbus A340 mock-up in Istanbul, showcasing how the airline trains their signature onboard chefs together with their catering partner, DO & CO.
OnAir Dining Stansted, London - We will have a rare look at how the other half lives with a visit to this caterer for private and corporate jets.
Pegasus Airlines - Flying on a low-cost carrier doesn’t necessarily mean horrible food, and Pegasus is an example of one airline that understands this. I've arranged a special flight between London and Turkey to surprise and serve passengers with meals and find out what they think of the concept of pre-order meals while traveling on the cheapest tickets.
WE WANT YOU TO GET INVOLVED!
All supporters will receive a token of our gratitude. Without your help there is no documentary, and I want you to participate in it. I've managed to arrange special access for extras to come join us on set (and even inflight!) during the filming, while experiencing some special access.
Visit us: Come to the set and be our business class test passengers onboard our Turkish Airlines mock up flight. Sit back and relax while the chefs serve you meals and watch how these chefs are trained to serve you inflight. Yes, we are aware of what's going on in Turkey at the moment, and feel that it's safe for us to travel there later this year. Filming will be conducted outside of Istanbul airport in a secure location.
Be our taste testers in Paris or London: Come to Air France to taste the latest meal upgrades for economy class passengers in Paris or aim higher, as our corporate jet inflight meal taste tester at OnAir in London.
Join the surprise in London or Riga: Help us surprise passengers on a flight from London to a destination in Turkey as we hand out free meals, or help us engage people on the street in Riga with the latest pre-order meals from Air Baltic.
THE FILMING SCHEDULE
The next round of filming will begin around November and conclude in February 2017. We will travel to London, Paris, Riga, Stockholm, Istanbul, Vienna and possibly to Athens, Zurich and Frankfurt. If you think of joining us on location note that most filming will be completed on weekends.
THE BUDGET
We initially wanted to create a documentary that will cover around 15 airlines from around the world, but quickly realised this would be a full time job and difficult to raise the funds. We have airlines as far as Australia and Tahiti who want to tell their story , but we have to be realistic. Instead we will work with a very small budget to complete filming across Europe to being with.
Your money towards our funding goal only covers the cost of flights, hotels and travel incidentals, it does not take into account our time spent on working on the crowd funding campaign, the filming or post production costs.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
The risks and challenges chiefly surround our busy travel schedule, since there is the possibility of travel delays and issues. With the recent events in Turkey it definitely does make us wonder about filming there, however the filming is to be conducted at a safe secured location, away from the general public anyway.
Access to mock-up training cabins at airline headquarters are subject to the scheduling and training needs of the airline, which is why we include weekend filming as a possibility. Another challenge is getting everyone required for each shoot at the right place and right time, which will be accomplished through organisation and open communication. As a back up, I have factored in an additional day at major locations just in case.
Thanks for reading this!
