INTRODUCTION
"GOOD MOVIES ARE LIKE GOOD MUSIC: what's happening behind the words is where the story's really being told."
My name is Sebastian Keck and I attend Columbia College Chicago, an arts school located in Chicago. I enjoy all that the city has to offer, but I also love escaping to the countryside and being surrounded by nature. Exploring forest preserves, working with horses on ranches, and living for some time in the countryside all inspired me to create this movie.
When I first came up with the story for this film, I wanted to accomplish what I love most about movies: they take a viewer to a place he or she has never been before. This is our goal in filming "The Last Rider". We want to create a movie in which our characters, setting, and story all transport the viewer to an unknown place, whether it be a historical place in time or a different frame of mind.
The film's story brings new energy and perspective to the eternal question: how do I choose between two things I love? With a fantastic team and an inspirational story, we look forward to our shoot this summer. Take a look at our site, support us if you're interested, and get in touch with our crew; we would love to hear from you and show you more of our story.
Sincerely, with thanks,
Sebastian Keck The Last Rider www.lastrabbit.com

ABOUT THE FILM
"The Last Rider" film is a Western period story set in 1890, just before the closing of the American Frontier. ROUND MASK, a Native American Indian, and AGATA, his companion, live on the last piece of frontier land unclaimed by the U.S. government or occupied by settlers. Pushed to the edge, the two must decide who they really are and choose to stand alone or together, or flee before the currents of history and personal upheavals.
This movie focuses on the struggle of a man who is torn between his love for his ancestral land and his love for a woman. With sparse dialog, we intend to tell this story through the use of landscape, color, lighting, and physical movement.
A "GREEN" Western, our film leaves behind the desert and heads towards the fertile prairies and Oak forests of the Midwest.

What We Need & What You Get
We are throwing the kitchen sink at this film, bringing horses, action, and breathaking scenery and costumes to the screen. Filming on location in northern Illinois, we have a budget of $12,000 to bring this film to life. All funds donated will go to our production fund to cover production design, editing, and such items as:
Horses: With at least 6 horses running around with us, it is important that we have the funds to treat our four-legged actors as we would our other stars.
Crew: How you treat your crew determines how well your movie is made. Funds will go to food and lodging for the dedicated filmmakers.
Costumes: More than just making an actor look good, great costumes help draw the viewer into the story.
