The Lost & Found Project
1. Money will be used to fix donated camera (if possible photography courses for myself as well)
2. I will explore the city capturing images that evoke feeling and may characterize scenarios we see play out in our society today.
3.Photographs will serve as inspiration and shall be partnered with an ephrastic poem or an essay and will be displayed in a gallery for the community to see, as well as published so that it can be distrubuted to others.
@note- I do not want to raise money for myself through this project I am using it as a way to cope with my stress and also as a way to raise awareness around issues in our community. All money raised here will go to fixing a donated camera that will be available to youth through Elephant Rebellion, a community collective of Artist activist and community Organizors, as well as other community affilliates of mine. I will use any remaining cash to buy an SD card, reproduce/print images and so on.
( Example Not actual essay ) Photo #1 "Barren Land"
The image above is one that I identify as a vivid metaphor for a scenario in our Society. In it we see a new toy truck, a set of swings as well as slides that look untouched, snow, trees that are withering away, and a sky that even gives off a chilling effect. I see a reflection of what our children experience today in that image.
Often times youth are forced to make decisions that even some adults today would struggle with. They are thrown into a corrupt and cold world and often times have to fend for themselves. Not being afforded a childhood a lot of these youth grow up too quickly without love and compassion and make decisons that negatively impact their lives without realizing it. Leaving the next generation in an even worse state and condition. It does not have to be this way though, every youth deserves a childhood and we can fight against the violence, the sickness of this world to make sure they do.
