Farm To Flask Distilling
Things at Maine Craft Distilling are great!! We began our journey back in January 2012 in Portland, Maine and are experiencing wonderful growth. The relationship with and feedback from our customers has been phenomenal. We feel very lucky and blessed to be a part of such a great community and are broadening our outreach by opening a second tasting room in the historic 1886 Mallet building in Freeport, Maine. This little gem of a building is perfect for a project we have been hatching......a Public House.
Ingredients
At Maine Craft Distilling, we use barley grain grown on Maine area farms, blueberries from Maine fields and maple syrup from Maine forests. Our distillation process infuses Maine peat and Maine seaweed, juniper, coriander, vanilla bean, clove and orange peel, mint, basil and cucumber peel. As you can see, we truly are a farm to flask production. Maine Craft Distilling is currently the sixth distillery in the United States who floor malts barley on site. We have 9 products ranging from rum, blueberry moonshine, whiskey, gin and a botanical spirit made from carrots (recently featured in the January 2015 issue of Fortune Magazine). Vision
The Mallet Building is a 2 story, brick building located in downtown Freeport, Maine. The first floor of the building has already been outfitted as a tasting room but we will be expanding to the second floor to provide more local craft spirits, more local craft beer and also small plates from our small "Pop-Up" kitchen. We envision a full Maine Craft experience with local foods, music and of course....beverage. We plan on creating a kitchen where various Maine culinary establishments can expand and share their passion of food from food truck vendors, taquerias, to area chefs and beyond. We want to make a place where Maine chefs can come and combine their passion with ours and those of local area brewers (which we will have on tap), local area vintner products and other local craft distillers.
Need
We are currently building out the second floor of the space with a bar and pub style seating but still need to outfit the kitchen and install the plumbing...no small task! We thought we would reach out to the community for support. Check out our video and membership gifts.
