About the director
My name is Dominick Argana and I am an 18 year old aspiring filmmaker currently attending California State University, Northridge. I have been directing, writing, editing, shooting, and sometimes even acting, since my freshmen year of high school. In 2013, I won my first award at the Los Angeles Student Media Festival for my commercial, Raid, and from that point on I knew that filmmaking was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
The Oblivious Film
My upcoming film is a drama narrative titled, The Oblivious. Set in the near future, scientists have created a new drug that lets you erase any memory from your mind forever. The story follows a man named Max who is having complications with his girlfriend, Scarlett, who eventually breaks up with him. Max has to decide whether or not he will face his problems and move on or erase them from his thoughts for good.
The reason why I wanted to tell this story is because I feel like most of us run away from our problems rather than dealing with them and actually trying to fix it. We need our problems. It has shaped us to who we are and what we can become. Without pain there is no room for growth.
"Why is it called 'A Dominick Argana experience'?"
I have decided to title this a "Dominick Argana experience" rather than a film. Reason being that I believe that there is a difference when you are just watching a film and experiencing one. "The Oblivious" is an experience. People will feel like they are a part of the movie and can really relate to everything that is going on.
"So what?"
In order to make The Oblivious possible, we're going to need your help. We are all first year college students who cannot afford to pay for equipment, food for the cast & crew, location fees, and festival submissions. Here is a breakdown of where the money is going and how it is being distributed:

As you can see, there are many things that we have to take in to account. All of the money will be going towards the production. We hope that you are willing to contribute as much as you can and make this film a reality. We need all the help we can get! Even a dollar makes a difference.

If we raise more than our original goal of $3,000, we we will go beyond this project and have more events and content for you. With such a limited amount of time, it seems almost impossible. But with enough people contributing, we can make this happen.
We will screen "The Oblivious" in different colleges around California!
If we reach $5,000...
We will create a year-long web series starting in 2015! The web series will be inspired by the works of WongFu Productions.
If we reach $6,500...
Director and writer of "The Oblivious", Dominick Argana, will make his very first feature length MOVIE!
