Will I become too dependent on the LED lights?
Our system supporters learners by helping individuals play through songs first to build interest, then adding on additional skills such as reading music, hand positions, and musical expression. Muscle memory is also a big part of playing piano, so we try to help individuals find their own musical expression rather than focusing on mapping notes to keys right at the start. With our system, you'll find faster progress in your initial learning even without the sight-reading skills. When you're ready to play independently, you can turn off the LED lights.
Can this replace a piano teacher?
There will always be value in customized education from a teacher. We do not intend to replace individualized advice by expert piano teaches. Instead, we aim to support musicians without initial sight-reading knowledge in faster learning and playing. We focus on developing basic skills and articulation through video lessons as well, which provide the same set of basic instruction as a teacher would.
Do I have to buy the app to use with the piano?
The app is FREE to download and use with your iOS or Android mobile devices (includes your tablets and phones).
Supported iOS devices include: iPad 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5/5c/5s (iOS 6.0 or higher). The ONE Smart Piano and The ONE Light do NOT work with iPad 1.
Which data cables do the pianos come with?
The ONE Light Keyboard comes with 1 Lighting cable and 1 Android USB cable.
The ONE Smart Piano comes with 1 Lighting cable, 1 30-pin cable, 1 Android USB cable, and 1 computer USB cable.
What songs and pieces are available in the app?
You'll be able to learn from thousands of sheet music in the app. With thousands of free public domains sheet music, you'll never run out of things to learn. Licensed sheet music will be available from $0.99 - $3.99+. We partner directly with Alfred and Hal Leonard, two the world's largest sheet music publishers, to get access to the latest hits and the best oldies.
Product FAQWhere are your pianos produced?
Our smart pianos are made by one of the largest keyboard manufacturers in the world, based in Shenzhen, China. The piano was iterated over 10 times and underwent multiple hardware certifications and safety tests, including:
- Apple MFi for iPhone and iPad
- CCC (China Compulsory Certification) for manufacturing
- CE authorized circulation within EU countries
- E1 Emissions Standard (highest) for green environmental and health friendly production in the EU
- FC authorized circulation within the US
How long will it take to ship my product?
Right now, the pianos are sitting in a warehouse in Hong Kong, and it will take approximately 2 months to get all of them shipped by and then by land to your door. You can expect to receive your product in September 2015.
How is shipping handled?
We are offering free shipping for our backers through Indiegogo. Shipping is available only in the United States for now. We hope to ship internationally in the future.
Orders ship in 1-2 business days with ground shipping.
What’s your return and exchange policy?
We want to make sure the product is to your liking. If for some reason you cannot keep the product anymore, write into customer service (support@smartpiano.com) to let us know why and a member of our team will personally support you based on your situation.
You can return your product within the first seven days of receiving the product and we will refund the price you purchased your item at. Past 7 days, a refund for the goods will be at our discretion. Because we're manufacturing these pianos as orders come in, we don't have extra stock for you to exchange your products. Make sure to carefully select your color in the shopping cart.
What happens if I receive the product and it’s broken or damaged?
Whatever needs fixing we’re here to help. You can write directly to us and we’ll get back to you within 3 business days with a personalized resolution to your problem. For manufacturing defects, we will gladly ship you new parts.
