The Story
Decorated with the purple heart, Private Stephen F. Gorman returns home from the Second World War and visits his soon-to-be fiancée and her parents whose son died in Stephen's arms in Normandy, France.
This is a story about guilt, healing, and forgiveness -- especially forgiving the ones who are closest to us. This story centers around Stephen and Mrs. Godfrey, the mother of his soon-to-be fiancée (Frances) and the son (Billy) who died in Normandy. Not only does Mrs. Godfrey blame Stephen for his death, but Stephen also struggles with shame and the doubt that he could have prevented Billy's death.

We are a group of young filmmakers based in Southern California eager to tell a story that, despite taking place in the past, is no less important and relevant in the present. Nearly 80 years ago, thousands of young men and women -- the same ages as these filmmakers -- sacrificed their lives for us and this film is a way to show our gratitude.
