Your Support
The film is being produced in the University of British Columbia’s Film Production program. Making films is expensive and our program does not cover the cost of our productions, which means that our films are entirely self funded. We are in need of your generous support in order to complete our film's post-production. In addition to post-production costs, we will also be using the funds raised in this campaign to submit our film into some film festivals.
The Impact
"The Roundhouse is inspired on a dream I had when I was a young girl. I wanted to take the idea of ancestors and their influence in our lives and find a protagonist to explore that journey.
I also wanted to tell a modern story about an aboriginal person, mainly an aboriginal girl, who is strong and makes strong decisions. I see so many films about tragedy, sadness and helplessness and I just really felt it's important for us to see an aboriginal person playing a hero or heroine"
- Theresa Warbus, Writer/Director of The Roundhouse.
Challenges
As students, we have a deadline to meet for when the film needs to be delivered. We are at our last month of post-production and we are hoping to raise the money we need to make the best film we possibly can.
