The Story

In the middle of the night, a young  man ventures out to his local to acquire the assistance of his trusted bartender in the disposal of a body. The bartender denies ever having met the young man and refuses to involve himself in the young man's predicament.

The Film

TIGER TIGER is a surreal mystery-drama set in a rural pub in Meath in which a young, unnamed Protagonist staggers into his local in the middle of the night to get his bartender and  trusted friend, Rickman, to help him dispose of a body. However, Rickman claims never to have met the young man before.

The film will inhabit a heightened reality, a dream-like realm much like that of a David Lynch film with opaque and idiosyncratic characters inspired by films from the Coen brothers and Nicolas Winding Refn such as 'No Country For Old Men' and 'Drive'. It is an examination of the brooding male protagonist/male anti-hero's make-up and the relationship between our heroes and villains now that the line between the two has been effectively severed by pop culture. Tiger Tiger asks where there is for film and television to go from here.

The screenplay was written by J. Finbar Lynch and he will assist Donnagh Fitzpatrick in directing the film.

What We Need

Being starting, independent film makers is difficult. Especially in such a hard working industry. That's why we require your help and generosity for the production of this film.

  • Our goal is to reach a total of 2500 euros. This may seem like a lot of money, even for a short film, but unfortunately the costs of production are rather high. So, with the help of your contribution, we will be able to fund equipment and location rental, props, costumes, post-production and festival submissions. Not to forget: travel costs of the cast, crew, and equipment, on-set food, and if we are able to reach our goal: small fees for the actors
  • Once we are able to reach our goal, we will be able to rent the best equipment to make a short film of high standard and quality. This investment will be worth your while, especially when we submit the film to national and international film festivals across the world.
  • The Irish film industry is a small industry, that is currently on the rise. With your help, we will be able to contribute to this growing industry and set new standards for Irish films in different genres. This way you'll also be supporting your local film culture and industry.

  • TIGER TIGER shoot will commence in July/August 2015.
  • Rewards can be found on the menu in the right hand side of the page.
  • If we do not manage to reach our goal in a timely manner and in worst case scenario: have to cancel the shoot, all donations will be fully refunded.
