The global economy faces an unprecedented hit as a trade war has been ignited by the world's two economic superpowers. Its effect has rippled throughout the whole world and its impact reaches far beyond the political leaders. Players of the Trade War Card Game all have a stake in ending the Trade War. They must clear their Tariffs cards and retaliate using Power cards, rushing to claim victory by being the first person to reach a Trade Deal before global recession strikes. In this highly addictive game, players will require strategic play, sabotage and a fair bit of luck to win the game, all while avoiding a Nuclear Attack.

Each character has a unique ability to block an attack or give him a winning edge in the game. Players do not reveal their characters to each other. However, if they want to use the Power that their characters possess, they will have to reveal their characters then. We have intentionally created some characters that are based on common folks, such as Farmers and Consumers, as we feel that ordinary people should be given the opportunity to exercise their power in the Trade War.

The deck consists of both tariff cards and power cards. Tariff cards have a value of 10 Billion to 300 Billion and 4 different sets of color codes.
![]()
Players take turn to clear their cards on hand by throwing down either tariff cards or power cards, following the color code or tariff value of the previous play. Players draw one card from the draw pile if no match can be made.

Play strategically and make your opponents draw more cards from the pile by using the above power cards (Twitter War, Baby Trump and Bad Hair Day). You can also use Skip or Reverse cards to your advantage during the game.

Tension escalates when a player draws a Nuke Card, unless he/she has a Tai Chi Card to divert the nuke to another player, or a Defuse Card to discard the nuke. The player will be eliminated from the game immediately if he/she has 2 Nuke Cards.

If a player finishes his/her cards, he/she gets a chance to throw the Trade Dice, unless he is blocked by a Trade Conflict Card.

If the player has the chance to throw the Trade Dice and it lands on his/her character's face, THE PLAYER WINS AND MAKES THE WORLD GREAT AGAIN! If the dice did not land on his/her character's face, redraw 7 cards from the draw pile and the player must continue the fight to end the Trade War.

ABOUT THE CREATORS
![]()
Xuan is a violinist in Singapore with her own Youtube Channel, she loves music and dislikes politics. Yong is a medical doctor in Singapore, he loves card games and reads about world politics. They are a husband and wife team who loves doing creative projects, such as building an indoor dog toilet, DIY-ing a fishing net to catch crabs and in their latest venture, a Trade War Card Game.
CHALLENGES
We first launched the project on Kickstarter one month ago and we were hopeful to share this game with the world. However, we received many challenges when we tried to advertise the game on Facebook as our advertisement was banned due to sensitive political content. We also attempted to reach out to bloggers, but were turned down as many are not keen to collaborate on the card game with a political nature. Despite our best marketing effort, our Kickstarter campaign was not successful. We were about to give up and move on to another project when we received numerous order request from our backers. We contacted manufacturer to begin manufacturing a smaller quantity of game so that we can deliver the game to our supporters.
With early collaboration with both manufacturer and fulfilment center, we are confident that we can deliver our product much earlier than the estimated April 2020 delivery timeline. We hope you will love the game as much as we do.
*For retailers who would like to purchase the game in bulk, please contact us at tradewarcardgame@gmail.com for further discussion.
