Our Mission and Vision: Our vision is to transfer the way we grow and distribute food, making healthy food affordable and accessible to all. With our business Re-Nuble, we set out to create a non-toxic, organic-based liquid nutrient solution with yields comparable to existing chemical alternatives. This finally provides a sustainably sourced, recycled, liquid fertilizer for the agriculture community that is effective and a viable alternative to using chemicals. Furthermore, our products will also allow for more growers to become organic certified and meet our national consumer demand for healthier produce that is currently fulfilled by international producers. How Do We Make Our Away We Grow® and Booster Shot!®?

We've figured out a way to take ordinary (pre-consumed) vegetative and food waste extracts, sourced from local food waste generators such as restaurants and schools, and process it into another a liquefied nutrient solution using a technology of ours. In less than a day, we can harvest the good nutrients left in this waste stream and apply heat and other components that allow for the nutrients to be removed of any bacteria and effectively become stabilized and sterilized. The end-product is a compostable liquid fertilizer that lasts longer than 2-3 days and is safe and effective for hydroponic systems. Ultimately, creating a completely sustainable nutrient in a water soluble form for easy and natural uptake for your plants, and a water source that can be discharged from your water reservoirs to a nearby houseplant or soil-based garden.

Re-Nuble is a social enterprise dedicated to sustainably managing our local communities' consumed resources, rendering them into valuable renewable inputs at minimal or zero cost to the environment. Tinia founded Re-Nuble in 2011, after living in NYC for six years and noticing how, during two of those years while living in Harlem, if she ever wanted organic-certified or naturally grown produce she'd often have to travel outside of her community in order to seek these options. Organic or natural food were often too expensive and not within close access to her community. Her passion to create a positive social and environmental impact within communities, our food system, and our natural environment is what led her to start Re-Nuble and to build a vision around our mission.
This project, however, would not be possible without the fundamental contribution and commitment of my two extraordinary team members:
Steven Burnett, Ph.D, VP of Research & Development: Dr. Steven Burnett holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a Minor in Microbiology from the University of Hawaii. In addition, he possesses a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus in nanocomposites and dispersions from Howard University. Prior to obtaining his Doctorate, Steven worked as an Analytical Chemist at Pharmavite LLC where he optimized quality testing for soft gel blends and powder to meet U.S. Pharmacopeia’s quality standards and developed standard operating procedures for Near infrared (IR) characterization. Steven is passionate about supporting efforts to preserve oceanic habitats, the conservation of wildlife populations, and the use aquaponics as a sustainable food source.
Andrew Carter: Hydroponic Systems Specialist & Product Manager: Andrew received a BSc in Environmental Sciences and Ecological Design from the Rubenstein School at the University of Vermont. He is a hydroponic grower and systems designer by trade, but is interested in robotics, controlled environments, and the future of farming.
Regulatory Hurdles
Before we can distribute these regulated products, they must be permitted by each U.S. state's Department of Agriculture. This registration process may take one to two months for clearance before we have the approval to distribute and ship your nutrients to your state. This potential hurdle, if incurred, will cause a delay in manufacturing and shipment. Below is the timeline we are committed to achieving.
Phase 1: Production Registration and Equipment Procurement
April & May: Product Permit Registrations are sent to each U.S. state Department of Agriculture to receive the proper approval for distribution. Equipment needed to increase product production is purchased to allow us to meet orders.
Phase 2: Distribution in the U.S.
June: Purchase packaging materials and repackage nutrient products for distribution. Lastly, ship our nutrients to all of you folks!
We've put together the below budget based on experience and had it reviewed by experts in the industry. We're confident these numbers will stand true to their actuals. Our greatest challenge will be in reaching our goal!

What is Hydroponic Farming?
Hydroponics is a sustainable method of growing plants in a soilless environment using only water and nutrient solutions. It is generally a lot more efficient way to use current land and water resources and control the growing environment.
How do our products work?
In hydroponics, our nutrient solutions are mixed into an aerated reservoir which is monitored with pH and electroconductivity (EC) sensors. We have formulated Re-Nuble to fit in with most conventional hydroponic growing operations, and it’s application is similar to most nutrient solutions currently available on the market. With soil based gardening, it can be applied similar to a compost tea or nitrogen rich fertilizer.
Is our product organic and if not, why?
Currently, Re-Nuble products are not certified organic, but are made from 100% natural ingredients. The lack of certification is mainly due to the status of our company and product, not because of the ingredients of the nutrient solution. We’re confident that as we ramp up production we’ll be able to get our products certified, making it easier for hydroponic growers everywhere to grow organic.
Please describe use cases for the products.
This product can be used by hobby to commercial scale growers alike. We have both vegetative and flowering formulations, and are confident in it’s suitability with most leafy greens and flowering plants.
Does it work with aquaponics? Aeroponics?
We have not fully experimented with the ReNuble product in Aquaponics, but are planning on a formula for these systems.
We also have not tried Re-Nuble with aeroponic systems, but due to the mechanics of those growing systems, we do not recommend it at this time.
Does Away We Grow® and Booster Shot!® work with all plant types and hydroponics systems?
Yes. Though our nutrient solutions have been tested on popular crops such as leafy lettuce types and various herbs, we are continuing to conduct testing across various plants.
What is the shelf-life for both products?
Both Away We Grow® and Booster Shot!® each have a one-year shelf-life.
Can they be considered "vegan"?
Our current formula is 100% vegan. We do process food waste for our nutrient solution, but are sure to keep any meat products and animal by-products out of our process, making it a meat-free, safe, and natural nutrient product.
Does it work better than other products on the market?
After numerous trials we have found growth across the board, but it generally grows at a similar rate to many synthetic hydroponic nutrient solutions currently on the market. The main difference is that this is sourced from raw vegetative and food waste, not the mined, unsustainable ingredients used in most nutrient solutions growers use today. We are planning on continually adjusting the formula until we can ensure optimum growth, outperforming other solutions in growth, price, and ingredients.
What if you exceed your $10,000 goal? How will you spend the funds?
This would be incredible! If we were to have additional funding available we would invest the funding in exploring a second goal of ours, which is to design a turn-key system to empower food entrepreneurs to produce their own nutrient needs on-site using local food waste as a source.
Why are vouchers being offered? Does this still mean that I can get the nutrient product(s)?
Since Indiegogo is a global platform, we are not able to directly offer liquid hydroponic nutrients as perks on the Indiegogo platform as advised by the Indiegogo team. Instead, we can offer a voucher of value to our backers to be redeemed on our company website when the products are ready for delivery. Essentially, this doesn't change anything.
