Do you want to contribute to Trust-building competence for facilitators in Israel and Palestine? We want to arrange 2 train-the-trainer seminars utilizing the Diversity Icebreaker® / Trialogue® concept for 20 participants each!

Diversity Icebreaker  (www.diversityicebreaker.com) has been applied in Palestine and Israeli institutions, both at universities for research and in large peacebuilding projects arranged by Konrad Adenauer Foundation with 3 peace organisations in Jordan, Palestine and Israel. We want to arrange two training seminars for facilitators in Israel and Palestine. The facilitators will be recruited primarily from NGOs and the ambition is the increase their competence in running seminars where Diversity Icebreaker is the platform for establishing trust between people independent of background. Time period for the training is 13th - 17th November 2017.

The application of the Diversity Icebreaker to conflict management has been described in a variety of platforms and locations from Norway, through the Balkans to the Middle East. We have presented our work on this topic at the SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education And Research) Europe conference in Tallinn, 20. Sept 2013 and also published in Ekelund, B.Z. & Pluta, P. 2015. Diversity Icebreaker II. Further perspectives. Oslo: Human Factors Publ. https://diversityicebreaker.com/csr.

What we as Human Factors AS ( http://human-factors.no/home)  fund as a part of this funding project?

1 consultant that will run the train-the-trainer program; the founder of Diversity Icebreaker, Bjørn Z. Ekelund; http://human-factors.no/home/info/consultants.

Normal market cost for both seminars: 10 000 US dollars.

Material (minus external costs 10%) for 40 participants. This “Starter Kit” is valued at $400 US dollar each, for a total of $16,000 US dollars donated to cover the cost for each of the 40 participants to have their own copy. We will also be waiving the registration fee for local facilitators participating in the train-the-trainer seminars.

In total (facilitator + material + waiving registration fees) Human Factors AS is contributing 24 400 US dollars to this project.

What we ask from you is your support in funding the remaining $14,100 US dollars

Cost of 1 international consultant, Ilene Wasserman, to co-facilitate $2,500 - USD

Travel and accommodation costs for 2 consultants $5,000 - USD

External costs of material $1,600 - USD

Local expenses $2,000 - USD

Administrative costs for the $3,000 - USD

The train-the-trainer seminars will be arranged by the Human Factors’ Red, Blue and Green Global Team in cooperation with NGOs in Palestine and Israel. Research about the impact of the seminars will be coordinated with Hebrew University.

A lower cost plan can be executed through a combination of limiting the number of participants to 20, eliminating consultant fees by only having one consultant, reducing the local fees for a total of $8,000 – USD to be raised.

Stretch Goals:

If we get 20 000,- USD – we will add free digital material for all facilitators in one year

If we get 25 000,- USD – we will arrange one more seminar plus 2 meetings as a follow up for learning exchange one year after the seminars.

If we get more, it will directly be spent to support facilitators with digital and physical paper material to execute the training programs.
