OUR STORYLINE:

When a cosmic event turns Emma's dog and cat into two perfect guys, Emma reconsiders her outlook on dating, hilariously works out her trust issues, and ultimately learns to love herself.

Emma (Kate Micucci), a brilliant but awkward app designer, moves to San Francisco after a massive betrayal by her boyfriend (Josh Brener) with only her beloved pets Ajax (Justin Chatwin), a golden eyed cat and Summit (Steve Howey), an energetic mutt in tow. One night, drawn by the light of a Supermoon, Emma’s pets escape into the night and are transformed into full-grown men. With the help of her colleague (Hana Mae Lee), she realizes she needs to make significant changes in her life before fate takes another turn.

OUR CAMPAIGN:

Believe us when we say our total budget was tiny! Thanks to the generosity of our terrific cast and crew we were able to shoot a great film, but we need to raise just a little bit more to finish the job.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES:

Our Goal - $25,000

Do you like music? WE DO! Our first goal will go entirely toward getting great music into our film. Our terrific composers Jenny Scheinman and Mark Orton are already hard at work on our film score, we are thrilled to be able to showcase songs from the fabulous Kate Micucci, and accomplished artists like Petra Hayden are crafting away on covers of some of our favorite songs, but getting festival rights to classic songs is very expensive. Meeting this goal will help us secure all of the songs Finn needs to help him tell his story his way...with music!

UNLEASHED was written and directed by three-time Sundance alum Finn Taylor (DREAM WITH THE FISHES, CHERISH & THE DARWIN AWARDS) and produced by fellow Sundance alum and Independent Spirit Award winner Susan Johnson (MEAN CREEK). Shot in July 2015 in and around San Francisco, this comedy is a departure for Finn, and a story that comes straight from the heart:

"I have always been fascinated by the ability of animals to open up the trust and love in us. They do it in ways we often find difficult to do for each other. I've seen the largest, toughest men melt to the wags of a puppy.

I also am blessed to have many women friends who want a life partner but feel commodified and spit out by the online dating world.

Then I thought 'Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a woman receive the soul boosting unconditional love we get from pets but projected through the eyes of two handsome men?' What a great way relearn how to love ones self and to trust in others."
