Overview
Kids and Family video content is at crisis point, and we have the unique opportunity to join together to shape the future of our industry. It will take patience, hard work and a shared vision. We created this industry and we deserve to be a part of its future. The Family Creators Association will be a non-profit organization comprised of people who make kids and family content on social media and want to unite and become one powerful voice for the future of our industry.

Time to Be Heard

For years kids and family content has been ignored because we aren't exciting, trendy or flashy.  Yet we have been the fastest growing vertical on YouTube, and we bring in the highest advertising rates on the platform.  Our founder, Melissa Hunter (Mommy and Gracie Show) has been representing us unofficially, but now the time has come for us to step up and officially join her to insure our future success.

Family Creators are scattered around the world. We are all very busy with our families and our channels, and we don't have the same freedoms that solo creators have to travel and attend events.  Because of these factors and many others we end being ignored, or worse, thought of as the purveyors of content harmful to children. To many creators outside of our genre we are a joke and an annoyance.  It's time to show social media platforms who we really are and what we are capable of.

This organization will be dedicated solely to family content creators.  We are a unique and powerful group that has been ignored for too long.  We were speaking up, but no one was listening and because our voices were too small to be heard, today we find ourselves struggling.

The Way Forward

Our industry is changing and it's not just on YouTube.  That may be the first obvious crack in our foundation, but as kids and family content spreads across social media there will be more challenges.  At the same time there will be more opportunities. Let's be ready to take advantage of those opportunities with knowledge and a united vision.  Let's learn from the mistakes we made innocently because we were alone and uninformed. If we move forward together we can get ourselves a seat at the table where decisions are being made about our industry.

What Is it?

Educating and advocating for Family Creators to insure the success of their businesses and the health of their families and  helping them prosper through social media.

The FCA unifies and represents social media families that produce digital content across the world. Our global organization bridges the communication gap between family creators and the distribution platforms that are so vital for their audiences. Social media institutions like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and others rely on FCA to be the voice that represents family creators and stands up for their rights. The FCA offers a platform and a safe haven for creators who create family and children entertainment online.

The FCA also serves as a champion for children who appear and participate on any and all social media platforms. We help families and their children ensure that children’s rights, protection, and safety are prioritized and are in compliance with the ever-changing standards and practices of social media companies.

This non-profit organization is funded solely on membership dues and donations from supporters.

Who Are We?

The Board of Directors will be chaired by Melissa Hunter, and she will be joined by family creators from a variety of genres with a variety of skillsets.  The Board will make the ultimate decisions on matters of FCA policy with the guidance of the Advisory Board and the membership as a whole.

Does YouTube Know?

The YouTube Kids and Family team has known for quite some time that Melissa has been organizing a group and they are excited to be able to work with us to develop best practices and to have a way to communicate with our very unique community.
