WHAT IS USHI?

USHI is a mindset, a symbol for truly doing what you want to do, while inspiring others to do the same.

About a year ago, I made a logo and put it on a shirt. I never thought that my logo would come this far, and now I am determined to never let it stop growing. When I started my first semester at art school, I had the thought that everyone was going to be just like me. That everyone would be able to draw a little bit, paint a little bit, and design a little bit. On the first day of class I learned my first lesson: expect to be the worst, strive to become the best.

The other students in my class were incredible artists. They seemed to be so comfortable and confident with their skills, and that intimidated me. I often wondered how my peers could draw or paint with such ease, and how I would ever survive four years in art school. After handing in my first official assignment my teacher announced to the class, "you should put this in the shredder, it's garbage." That day I learned another lesson: don't get mad, prove them wrong.

It is crazy for me to think about how far I've come since then. After that day i had developed a thirst for knowledge, and I was determined to become not only a better artist, but a better human being. Instead of trying to imitate other classmates, I strived to figure out what my skill set was and honed in on those skills. I created my own path, and that path has become USHI.
