SensAction is the legal name of the association and derives from the word "Sensa" that is from "Fondamenta della Sensa" the place where physically the space is located in Venice, and "Action" to indicate the form of artistic expression chosen with the aim of producing culture and social impact.
The idea was born from the union of four women that they met through different experiences: Aida Vainieri is a dancer since 1991 of the company Wuppertal Tanztheater Pina Bausch, Francesca Noia has been assistant director of Sasha Waltz & Guests dance company since 2002 , Foscarina Ferrazzuto comes from the French-Italian circuit PMD Présence, Mobilité, Danse®, a dance-oriented movement practice (founded by the choreographer dancer Hervé Diasnas), Rosangela Saputo is a cultural project manager.
The aim is to create a space of research and artistic production related to dance and choreographic movement within an old shed (where other people are already working to create a multipurpose cultural hub and co-working space). Specifically we would like to organize courses and productions of choreographic dance, dance theater, improvisation workshops, Présence Mobilité Danse®, yoga, tai chi, pilates, antigymnastique, gyrokinesis - gyrotonic, and finally activities dedicated to children and the elderly. We would like the space to become an opportunity for education, interaction, dialogue, artistic production, supporting local, national and international artists and professionals.
We need your help to:
- set up a proper dance floor
- set up a dressing room
Dear friends all around the world, we were inspired by Bruce Lee’s famous phrase "Be water my friend" for our dance project in Venice, do you want to be with us like water? Free, limitless, adaptable, only with your help we can make it!
Thanks to your precious efforts we will start to buy and set up the dance floor, then we will need to furnish the dressing room and to reach the entire goal to fix the walls.
After the coronavirus the beautiful city of Venice revealed its fragility: we realized that we would like to create and offer to this unique town a kind of intelligent tourism, what it means ? a deep exchange between local people and foreigner, in away to offer and receive options of creative jobs.
Only with your help can we succeed.
Thank you for any support you can give and please share our campaign.
