Xarde Synopsis
Xarde is a fantasy adventure comic book about a young, feckless woman living in the modern world who realizes she has innate, nascent dragon-like powers. She inherits the Sword of the Dragon Warden and must come to terms with her thrice-cursed existence.
Xarde has been trapped in the modern world not realizing she is from another, medieval, world where Dragons and Devils are real. She must overcome the challenge of her past while figuring out her place in the strange new reality she finds herself in.
Xarde #1: The Dragoness is Act I of a 4-part series that tells the story of Xarde’s discovery of her powers, the legend of her father’s sword, and the inevitable collision between our world and the Hellscape from which she comes.

Xarde #1: The Dragoness is 80% complete and this Indiegogo campaign looks only to raise the funds to send her to print! I would very much love to have you join me and the team of very talented artists on this project to help with it's launch. This will ensure that Xarde's story can be told and the epic of her life can continue not only in these first 4 parts, but beyond as well. We have a beautiful Mike Krome illustration that we will use for Xarde #2 campaign. But while we wait for that, we have designed it into a coaster for a stretch goal on Xarde #1: The Dragoness!

Once we have the Mike Krome coaster in our rear view mirror, we'd like to make a set of collectible trade/sketch cards of the Xarde concept art! This idea will put 3x of a single design in every backer's mailer and then the gamification is on! Backers will need to find other backers to buy, sell, or trade from to fill in their collection and get a full set. Show off your full set in the Sandig Renegade Fanatics Facebook Group!

'Well hello, Xarde' I would say to it. Half expecting an answer. The face shows the telltales of Xarde's dragon half, and betrays a kind of pensive mood in the asymmetric mouth that she may know of her troubled future. The quiet calm of the expression hints of her inner strength to deal with anything that may come."

2021 Xarde/Mercy Challenge Coin
We are thrilled to offer a 1.75" Challenge coin to the campaign! This beautiful, embossed, 3D silver plated coin commemorates the launch of Xarde #1: The Dragoness.
Heads is Xarde and the latin phrase "Vita Flammae" or "Life of Flame." This phrase reminds you to do what Xarde would do... "Live on Fire!"
Tails is Mercy, Xarde's nemesis with the latin phrase "Memento Mori." This stoic phrase reminds us all that death will one day come, reinforcing the need to "Live on Fire" today, and every day, because life is preciously short.

Xarde #1: The Dragoness is such a beautiful book that we thought the key, historical moments within the book should be extracted and honored with their own 6x9 mini prints! The three scenes you'll get with this mini-print add-on are:
- Xarde's flashback - pg 6 where Xarde starts to remember the epochs of her past unwinds back millennia.
- Tiamat's Wrath - pg 7 where Tiamat commands the devil's mercenary, Mercy, to seek and destroy Ebora, Queen of the Red Dragon Flight and her mate, Xarde's father, the Dragon Warden.
- Rex Dracos' last stand - pg 8 where Xarde's father battles Mercy in the doomed last stand of the Dragon Warden.

The Impact
The budget for pencils, inks, colors and letters for 24 interior comic book pages and multiple cover/splash images has already been financed and completed.
Your campaign dollars will go to printing, shipping and the production of more Xarde comic books!
Risks & Challenges
The book has been funded and is 80% complete as the campaign begun. All Inks for all pages have been received, colors for 25% of the book are completed, and the first 6 pages have been lettered. We expect the colors and lettering to be complete by the end of the campaign (August 4 or earlier).
This leaves only the printing and fulfillment to be planned and executed in August for shipping targeted in September 2021.
