About Us

SideDoor Youth Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization located here in the heart of Yellowknife, NT. We serve youth in our community through various programs to allow youth to thrive and build character in a therapeutic environment alongside our team of staff.

We are excited to have partnered with the YMCA, Kingston Community Health Centres, Pathways to Education and 3 Things Consulting to offer a unique experience to a group of 13 youth from the Yellowknife community and 3 youth from Inuvik.

On May 1st, we will travel to Kingston, Ontario for one week, where we will meet with a group of 21 youth to celebrate both the Cultures of Southern Ontario, as well as our own unique and traditional ways here in the Northwest Territories. Our goal is to connect our cultures and celebrate both our differences and similarities between Northern & Southern communities.

21 Youth from Kingston have already visited us in Yellowknife and built incredible relationships with us. Now it's time for us to revisit our new friends and fulfill the purpose behind our project.

What We Need & What You Get

Thanks to various donations and funding provided by our Partners, we are looking to raise funds for our youth during their week in Kingston to make it extra special.

  • We are looking to raise $800.00 for our 16 young people
  • This money will go directly into recreational activities adding up to approximately $50.00 for each youth
  • Our counterparts in Kingston, ON have done a lot of work in planning activities to enrich our understanding of our cultures; your donation will help our youth to participate in activities while we are in Kingston.

The Impact

We believe to build true, individual character, we must understand ourselves. To build community, we must also understand those around us, not only ourselves. In Canada, we need to continue understanding the differences we have and the similarities we share. Your donation not only allows for us to ensure we build onto our Canadian community, but allows our young people in the North to appreciate and enjoy themselves that much more during their experience in the South.

Please donate to allow youth from your community have an opportunity to brighten the future of your community.
