2020 A Year Without War is a program within the Department
of Philosophy at Santa Barbara City College. Donations supporting 2020 AYWW are
directed through the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College, a verified non-profit.
2020 A Year Without War (2020 AYWW) is a global community working
towards one goal: One year (2020)
without war. 2020 will be a global cease fire, truce, or step down for just one
year to rethink how we handle conflict in the 21st century and to
reassess the costs of war on people, environments, economics, education,
infrastructure, travel, food, animals, and families.
For our children, do we choose a world with war or without war?
For the past 30 months, 2020 AYWW has been moving forward with volunteers, pro bono support, small donations, and student
interns. Now it is time to push this organization to the next level
with sustainable global technology and a professional staff. Organizing student interns and volunteers to accomplish strategic goals, following up with the many international organizations that want to partner, arranging for thought provoking presentations, keeping up with social media, cultivating and thanking donors, and handling the myriad operations are the tasks that need full-time attention now.
Professor Joe White, Chair of the
Department of Philosophy Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), has been the
visionary leader volunteering for 2020 A Year Without War. His blogs (ayearwithoutwar.org)
demonstrate not only his ability to articulate the hard and sensitive
issues of war but a deep passion for mentoring and empowering youth to
embrace their future as leaders who will change this world.
No Child Chooses War
How much is one year without war worth to you? To the economy? To the planet? How priceless is it to be a part of something unprecedented and yet so attainable. Help 2020 AYWW push to the NEXT LEVEL!!!
