About "46":
In mid 2013, David & Jessikah Warfle began a project called Rock for Ronan. The project is a music cd that helps promote the Ronan Thompson Foundation in their fight again pediatric cancer.
Our newest project that we're excited to announce is "46". The name comes from the fact that every single day, 46 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer. Our plan is to travel the US speaking with doctors, labs, current & former patients, and their families.
Our goal is to raise awareness as to exactly what's going on in the world of pediatric cancer, through research, funding, treatment, and the day-to-day lives of children going through this. We need your help making this happen!
Why We're Funding:
We've started this indiegogo to help fund some major elements of the project. Money raised will go towards gear, minor travel, publishing, and distribution.
Our goal is to have it on as many media outlets as possible. The more people that can see it, the more people will understand how severe this disease is, and how important it is that we fight it!
If we don't hit our max goal, the project will still happen. Everyone will receive a digital copy of the finished documentary and anyone who contributed as an executive producer will still receive their full perks.
The Impact
Our goal is to raise awareness of the severity of childhood cancer. Here are just a few facts you may not know:
- Sadly, over 2,300 children with cancer die each year.
- 1 in 330 children will have the disease by age 20.
- Cancers in very young children are highly aggressive and behave unlike malignant diseases at other times in life.
- 80% of children have metastasized cancer at the time of their diagnosis. At diagnosis, only 20% of adults with cancer show evidence that the disease has spread or metastasized.
- Detecting childhood cancers at an early stage, when the disease would react more favorably to treatment, is extremely difficult.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't contribute financially, you can still help!
We need your help spreading the word about the project and sharing it with as many people as possible. If you know of anything else you want to help us with, please let us know!
We are in no way looking to make a single penny on this project, any money that we do make will go directly to the Ronan Thompson Foundation. They are an amazing organization that we love very very much.
